Newspaper, paper towels, alumnim foil, an old sheet, etc. I got a wedding present (1st wedding) from a friend, who wove ribbons together, FORCING us to break at least one to open it. (Someone mentioned pet hair - My wife swiffers up a small dog every freaking day of the year - I'm SURE we could have enough to wrap a present with in a couple of days... LOL)

Well, not the most random thing I COULD use, but the most random thing that I have used is a poster. I bought someone a CD and wrapped it in a poster that I got from the CD store (for a dollar). The poster was a retro poster and went over VERY well. I tied it with a black boot string and it was great.

Gift-giving occasions are great opportunities for me to recycle unused cartons and boxes. I sometimes amuse myself by wrapping something for my wife in something like a box that a football came in.
