  • Congratulations! My only advice is that you have made it a year and that means you can make it another year, just one day at a time. Don't make the thought of making it another year your prime thought, just make your prime thought making it one more day. My dad stopped at age 35 and he is now 78. You can do it!
  • Do you have any type of support system? Whether it is family, 12 step groups, friends, or something else. Talking about how you feel with people who understand what you are going through is often very helpful. Even though I am not an alcoholic I know it is very common to feel this way at your first anniversary.
  • A face to face meeting with another recovering alcoholic is always helpful.
  • One day at a time, sometimes it's a minute. Go to meetings and to talk to your sponsor are another AA that's sober.
  • Just remember that one drink is two many and a thousand ain't enough.
  • Embrace a newcomer. Show him how you did it. This person will be watching you so it will make you want to set a good example. Good luck!
  • i think if you made it thru the first yr you could probably do the others too
