No. Why?
-
Yes.
-
Yes, by default, The obits are next to the opinion page!
-
I always look at the obits first and then I check out a few college basketball scores. I spend so much time on AB that I have become very remiss about reading the rest of the newspaper. I carry the crossword puzzles around with me when I have to spend time in waiting rooms.
-
No, our local paper only comes out once a week. By the time the paper hits the stand everyone in town already knows all the news, including who has passed away.
-
Yes, I actually do. Whenever I get the paper I make it a point to head to the obits. There are some people who won't tell you if someone they knew or were related to passed away, and I don't know. I guess I feel like it's important.
-
No I am not yet in that age group.
-
No. I only read it if someone I know passes away.
-
While I DO check the locals, more often than not, I check from my home town, where I grew up, where all the people live that I went to school with, etc., since I don't live there anymore. Sometimes I wish I hadn't; I seem to be among the few that are remaining. As for the locals, I haven't been living here long enough to know most of those whose names appear in the Obits. That's what traveling around with the military will do for ya! *SMILES*
-
yes and who got arrested and who got married or divorced. It's a small town.
-
Yes, but online. I don't get a physical copy of the paper anymore.
-
Yep... Online... I'm an amatuer genealogist, and there are a lot of people in my DB in this area. I also check to make sure I'M not in it! LOL
-
Every single day. The life stories sometimes trigger inspiration to write my own work.
-
I read the obits everyday online. I swear I know someone in there at least once a month.
-
Oh look at all these yes answers :) I'm not a sad morbid git after all. Yes I do. I also read the courts section to see if anyone I know is in trouble LoL
-
I read them and find the obits in the new York Times very interesting and wonder why my life isn't so interesting, and why I haven't accomplished as much.
-
Yes
-
No... but I check the Staten Island obituaries from time to time to make sure my father's name isn't in there. I figure as long as he's alive I have a chance of finding him.
-
I check to make sure my name isn't there so I can go about my day;)
-
NO
-
I always read the obits first. Secondly, I read the sports page.
-
Every day. I know it sounds weird, but I've been doing that ever since my mom past away. I can't explain it. Plus I love seeing the "before" and "after" photos of what they used to look like. I'm a nut...I know.
-
yes I do, work at the local cemetery and many times we have a funeral home that will post wrong time for service or forget to call etc, so I tend to check for that reason and we have 2 other cemetery around us so I watch for people I went to school with etc.
