  • Yup. I am a very good little cherub. Scary, ain't it?
  • I don't call in sick. If I have to be out, it means going in to the class and getting all set up for a substitute teacher; once I've done all that planning I might as well just stay and teach!
  • Surprisingly yes, 3 times in 9 years
  • Yes, sure enough! I kid you not.
  • Plenty of times!
  • For the one job that I held the longest, about two years, I called in sick ONCE, and no, I wasn't sick. It was easter and I woke up longing to spend it with my family.
  • yea. can't work with food when you've got the flu.
  • Sadly, that is the only time I call in sick - when I actually AM sick. Pathetic, I know.
  • Wait...are you my boss? :-) Yes, I have been sick when I called in. I have also not been sick when I have called in.
  • Yes, this week actually. I have been sick since last Saturday and I finally am starting to feel better.
  • I don't recall ever calling sick to work, but I have left my workplace very few times during my 16 years working there. On one occasion I hurt my back and couldn't drive home, so my Supervisor gave me a lift to my apartment. It was on a Friday, and I spent all weekend laying in bed. Getting up to the bathroom was a torture....
  • yes a couple times
  • I called in and said I was going to the doctor, I felt terrible. I had the flu but wanted to work because I had a ton of it to do. I told her I was going to get a new tire because I had a flat earlier that morning and had a donut tire on the car, then I would go to the doctor and then I would be in there... I could barely get dressed... sick as I had been in a long time! I started down the road and the donut blew out! A couple of guys stopped to help, they tried to air it up but the rim was bent so bad it wasn't possible. I told them I would call someone and to go ahead and go. I got in my car because it was freezing out, alot of snow and the wind blowing. I didn't want to call Jimmy because he worked an hour away, I couldn't think clearly because all I wanted to do was go get in bed. The police pulled up behind me and told me they were going to have to tow my car because it was parked at the bottom of a hill and wasn't safe. That was all it took, I kind of lost it. I told them to go ahead because then the bad luck for the day would be finished, nothing else could happen after that. Then I totally lost it and got in my car crying. I was sick and freezing my ass off, all I was trying to do is to go get my tire fixed, go to the doctor so he could give me some miracle medicine, so I could get to work! They must have felt the stress... they pushed my car over to the side and gave me a ride home. I called her and told her I was going to bed!
  • Yes, 8 days in all in the twenty two years I have worked. Those eight days was to go to hospital to have me knee cartlage removed.
  • I only ever call of when I am REALLYYYYY sick, or if some outside business is going to end up costing me more money than not going to work.
  • Of course. Maybe not as many times as I wasn't.
  • Indeed. Many times I have been too ill to work. Of course I have called in when I have been fit enough to work though!
