Nah, stuff like that doesn't bother me, people here have called me Syn and that was cute and funny.
-
No, I don't care either way.
-
Of course not! It's not my name, so you can all call me anything you like within reason! =)
-
No, whatever floats their boat. As long as their happy with the way they shorten my name. It doesn't bother me at all.
-
Not at all on AB. Some of them are long, multiple word names that seem awkward to write out. I finally changed part of mine to encourage people to shorten it. In real life, it doesn't bother me, but I respect others enough to call them by their full name unless and until they invite me to call them something else. How about you, Babycakes?
-
No, of course not---call me anything you like, just don't call me late for a meal, lol-p&l
-
No. KDP works for me. It's hard to shorten my real name which is Mark.
-
I hope they don't. My name luckily isn't shortened, for it is what it is; Anna. If I had offended anyone by shortening it, well, I am sorry.
-
Nah, I shortened it myself because it was way too long. It was idntnoevythng. lol
-
Yeah it does. I guess I deserve it though, because I do it all the time to other people.
-
I don't care, as long as I realize the person is talking to me.
-
Not at all, Jenny , J.B. Or Jennifer. I get called by all these.
-
If they call me Pat , yes it bothers me . I like my real name Patti -- + 5
-
Nope it is kinda hard to shorten Sarah and SarahLou can be shortened to Sarah and that is my name anyways.
-
Nup.... It cant get much shorter!
-
I pretty much respond to anything, I've had many nicknames.
-
No, I like Ken. My family name is Wade, but I don't care for it that much, just as long as only my family uses it.
-
Most of my friends call me by my nickname- which is my first name with out the first to letters. My nickname is Ria. Can you guess what my first name actually is?
-
Never bothers me.
-
Nope, when I first joined I was Stormynights but everyone called me stormy. I actually liked it more so I changed it.
-
nope. my name in 'real life' is already a nickname from my full (and incredibly obnoxious) name. it cant get much shorter than i've already made it. so no. and as for my AB name, most people call me Doodle. i'm fine with it.
-
That's what made me change it to D.A...
-
I feel like folks are getting comfortable with me when they shorten my name (real or otherwise). In some small way it is a compliment. In business, I prefer Mr. on first meeting, at which time I will offer my full name. From there, the name shortening over a period of time can infer a good relationship.
-
Not at all. I prefer Andy and A777 is fine too.
-
Yes! Only one of my friend does it. My real name is Sharon and she calls me Sha. At lease she can call me Shar like my sister does!
-
Nah, I'm fine. I do wonder if folks realize that it rhymes with my name, Solo... and not pronounce like fox-low.
-
nah!
-
My AB name? Nah. Some people call me 'love'. I quite like that, actually. Taxi drivers are forever calling me 'love' so I'm used to it. I'm not sure why I came up with that example but I did.... My real name can't really be shortened. My mum does, but that's about it. Ah, I don't particularly like it but I'll forgive her :)
-
yea! My real names georgina, i like to be called Georgy (Im female) and everyone calls me George! Im not a boy!!!!!!
-
No, it doesn't bother me if they want to shorten my AB name. My first name is already short, so there is no way to shorten it. However, I hyphenate my last name, and it does sort of irk me when people only want to use one of the two hyphenated names.
-
I think when petty stuff like that starts to bother you, you lead a much too cushy and sheltered life. Lots of things other people say and do bother me. But only things and attitudes that are of some consequence. How someone pronounces or shortens my name is of no consequence. I think it takes a lot of vanity and self-absorption to get hung up on stuff like that.
-
Nope, doesn't bother me at all.
