I love my children,(even when they screw up) why wouldn't he love his?

Two reasons. 1 Faith 2 better than him hating me!

God loves all His children, and I don't assume I have faith and belief.He loves you to.

I like to make assumptions based on a veritable ton of evidence, and I have yet to see any evidence at all that God loves me. Or anyone else, for that matter. (and no, sunsets or baby's smiles do not count)

I think that when everyone dies they find out they are their own God. So, I know God loves me because I love myself.

I don't, I assume that he hates me. This is because he has given me every reason to think this way, and seems to be rubbing it in my face.

i assume you're referring to the religious people of AB. [assuming isn't always the best thing to do though.] but most of them will through out a verse from their holy book for you that says it. if you're not religious but still believe it, well that's up to them because then you're going to have way more individual answers. personally i'd think if he didn't my life would be a lot worse and i wouldn't be so freakin lucky.

I don't. In fact, he might even hate me, if he exists. I am annoying at times and have disobeyed more than one of his commandments. I deserve his hatred and his wrath.

Who says we do? I have a better chance of my desk lamp loving me. At least it's real.

Because I could really have been in dire trouble such as last week when there were three teens who decided to dart out on a dark avenue last week and I nearly hit two of them at over 50MPH. That was stupid of them but I was lucky enough to avoid them so I'm lucky that I'm not the only one who is being looked out for.

Because He sent Son to pay for my sins, so that I could be forever with Him. I guess He must like me (in fact the whole world), otherwise He wouldn't have gone to such extremes to make it possible for everyone to spend eternity with Him. I think people assume that God loves them exactly how a baby assumes that her/his parents love him/her.

Why assume He doesn't? Why be concerned at all? Live long and prosper.

Because I've ended up always feeling good about whatever He's been giving me -the outcomes or the experiences :-)

I know a song that attests to this, learned a long time ago. Goes like this: Jesus loves me this I know, For the Bible tells me so Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.

He sent His son to die for me. I think that shows it all. "8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

I don't.. If I should ever get to the point where I hope for the love of an apparently imaginary being whose existence I've never seen a single proof of, I would consider it a personal defeat

I really do not assume anything. I mearly accept what God has revealed through Scripture and the experience and wisdom of generations and generations of millions of believers. Here are a couple of quotes about God as Love from C. S. I don't assume; I know. And He doesn't just love only me.

I don't assume, and neither do most true Christians, such as New Member and ImaCatholic2, for I believe they are His. God is love and it is only natural that He loves us, for John 3:16 plainly states that God loves us and that the ultimate demonstration of love is to actually give your Son to die, for while Abraham almost took his son's life, only Jehovah actually did it.

God loves everything he created. As I am one of his creation, He loves me unconditionally. Nevertheless he requires us to adhere to his commandments!

Well, lets assume you don't believe in the Biblical account, but you do believe in God. First of all, most things in the universe exist in opposite pairs. God is a creator. A creator brings life and order. He is the opposite of a destroyer, who brings death and chaos. Secondly, look at what he created: is the world beautiful and good? I don't mean the behavior of humans, I mean the world. Consider all the things he made, mountains and clouds, canyons and streams. Clear, cold water to drink. Plentiful foods to eat. Garlic and cheese, spinach and steak, things to delight our palate as well as nourish our bodies. He didn't have to make things to delight us. He could just as easily have left taste buds out. He could have come up with other ways of reproduction that didn't include sex and orgasm. We could have laid eggs. He didn't have to include shady glades and warm sunny meadows. What was the purpose of a tree that lives thousands of years and grows big enough to drive a car through the base? Why did he need to include whales and dolphins? Why did he give dolphins a grin? Does that expression mean anything to a dolphin? If he included all these things that were delightful, when he didn't have to, then how would you describe his nature? If he gave us a nature to be delighted at these things, is he the kind of God that gives good gifts? If his nature is good, light-hearted, delightful and loving, based on what you see around you, then which religion would you say best reflects that loving nature? Now I'm not saying that there aren't bad things in the world. It is good evidence to me that there is also a force of evil, an opposite to God, that which we commonly call Satan. It also shows me that we are often gullible and fall for his lies, the greatest of which is to appeal to our pride. But I think that the evidence is all around us that God is good.

I don't assume. I know. When I was shot and survived it 12 years ago, I knew there, and I only barely starting to understand it now. My trials and tribulations have been boiling my soul and purifying me into pure gold, and I have a feeling He will make me platinium as Him as the end times 4 winds will continue to blow till the last last day!
