Ummm..be right back. Five minutes ago. (Thanks) ;-)
-
Ours are hard wired into the house electricity, so never need to check them.
-
Every six months. When I reset the clocks for daylight savings changes, I check them. I usually only change them once a year. And yes, I have at least one fire extinguisher on every level of the house.
-
Once a week. I bought two really mini smoke alarms from Comet down from £29 each to £1.....great, what a bargain.... but the batteries were dead, no problem, just buy some more.....poo,poo, they were £2 each and it took three in each alarm and they have to be changed 9 monthly...not such a bargain after all was it Rince :o)
-
Actually mine is hard wired to the house.
-
Mine are connected up to the main electrics of the house, so if the battery goes dead then i dont need to worry, though i dont see the point in them having batteries when they are connected to the mains anyway
-
Mine are in fine working order. Yesterday, I was making homemade potato chips, and apparently I got the oil too hot, and it smoked up the whole house, I had to disconnect the alarms until the smoke cleared..
-
No need. We have a central alarm (burglar and fire). When I was in an apartment, I checked it once a month because my downstairs neighbor liked to grill inside (prohibited on patio/balcony area). That made me a little nervous.
-
who checks their batteries??? those damn things scream at you every two minutes or so to let you know when they're hungry. That's when I change mine.
-
It's been a while. My roommates keep burning food so we took both fire alarms down.
-
it's hardwired into our house.
-
That is sad to see. Our smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors both get checked every season change, four times a year. It's easy to remember 1st day = battery day (1st day of Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter)
-
The day before yesterday, and it wasn't working. It is now.
-
Woah. Must've been 2 years ago. My mother told me to go out and buy batteries, but it seems I forgot. Better get going now...
-
A week ago and it works. I have mine checked at least every six months.
-
ours is that one.... It beeps every time i cook dinner, even if we are burning nothing (witht the windows open and the kitchen door closed) it pissed us off one time to much... so now its gone. :)
-
Yesterday and it was dead good thing i checked
-
When my mother-in-law was here cooking. . . Just kidding, good question, all of mine are up and running.
-
Recently. A few days ago.
-
It's hardwired, but it really needs to be in our house, my mom thinks they are used as cooking timers.
-
I'm lucky because my smoke alarms are monitored by IDT.
-
In the house Im in now, I have never checked the smoke alarm and Ive lived here for about 4 months. I know they're all working though because they go off whenever I smoke! ;)
-
Batteries less than one year old and they are only for back up as the alarms are hardwired into the house. If there's power they will go off, even without batteries. Unfortunately there is no turning them off by taking out the batteries, which I've wanted to do a couple of times lol!
-
Just put batteries in them three weeks ago. They all were missing batteries for months. Made a trip to the dollar store and got some 9 volts recently.
-
mine is plugged in
-
the day after your... incident
-
I just changed my smoke alarms to ones that use my voice to wake the children and give them instructions instead of a blaring noise they would sleep through. I love them and show them off to company all the time. If the battery goes dead, I'll know it.
-
No batteries in ours, it's wired through the wall.
-
A couple of days ago, when I forgot a skillet on the stove and set them all off. I do check them several times a year and usually replace the batteries when the time changes.
