  • If you eat the right things within 15 minutes after exercise you will not feel as sleepy. Don't eat breakfast before you excercise. ------------------------- "During the day your body's main source of energy is the carbohydrates that you get from eating your meals. As you sleep at night for 6+ hours your body uses up all those carbohydrates as energy for various bodily functions that go on even while you sleep. When you wake up in the morning your body doesn't have any carbohydrates as energy to use and it will look to burn body fat instead for energy. For you to take advantage of this morning fat burning opportunity you have to exercise first thing in the morning. Don't eat breakfast because if you do you'll just give your body some carbohydrates as a source of energy instead of the body fat that you want to burn for energy." “It gives you a great kick start to the day supplying your brain with fresh oxygen and speeding up your metabolism for the whole day. It's also just as important to "feed your body" the correct nutrients straight after you finish, especially for weight training. It’s recommended that you eat mainly protein no longer than 15 minuets after you train this is easily done with a healthy shake, One of my favourite is Bananas, Whey protein and a couple of egg whites” from the net. hope this helps.
  • You may be overexercising. Cut back
  • Alatea's answer is good but there is a major error. If you do not eat any carbs in the morning, you will find it excessively hard to burn fats. A) because carbs are the bodies natural preference for energy and is much more easily liberated. Therefore, not having any carbs will mean you feel more tired and have less energy. B) in order to burn fats you must have a supply of carbohydrates to use. This is because in order for fats to be used as fuel they must be converted to Acetyl CoA. This then enters the citric acid cycle to be used as fuel. However, in order for it to enter the cycle there must be a supply of oxaloacetate. This is formed from pyruvate which in turn is formed from glucose(carbs). You only store a limited amout of carbs as glycogen in the body (liver and muscles), so this needs to be replenished. Otherwise, no carbs = no pyruvate = no oxaloacetate = no burning of fats. In fact you may end up breaking down your muscles to produce protein to use as another source of oxaloacetate. C) If you skip breakfast, the body 'believes' it is being starved and so will go into starvation mode, in essence trying to store as much energy from food as possible, leading to increased storage of fats. D) Your brain (apparently a fairly important organ) survives on glucose. Unlike most other tissues that can use alternative fuels for some time, the brain requires a constant supply of glucose (actually it can also use ketones but that is complicating the mater). No glucose (carbs) = brain has no energy = tired. The internet is full of sites claiming not to eat breakfast, but this is possibly one of the worst things you can do. I'm not saying eat a Mars Bar first thing, but you should eat a good supply of carbs such as cereal that have a mixture of fast and slow releasing carbs to sustain you throughout the morning. And never, ever let yourself feel hungry.

  • You need motivation to get energized. The way to get motivated, you have to think of whatever goals you are trying to accomplish. It sounds like you are not in good shape by expressing yourself with a lack of motivation. A person that is in good shape is already accustomed to morning workouts without feeling drowsy.
  • maybe cause you havent woken up yet
  • BTW, you also need a good night's sleep. Try to sleep 8 hours a day.
  • probably cause you just woke up
