  • The whole poem is evidence of it. From the opening line "Had we but world enough and time / This coyness lady were no crime" to the very end of the poem there is nothing but "carpe diem", or rather, "We'll both be old and ugly soon so let's have sex now while we're young and beautiful" Thy beauty shall no more be found / Nor in thy marble vault shall sound my echoing song / Then worms shall try / Thy long preserved virginity The 1st stanza sets up his arguement and the 2nd and 3rd stanzas solidify it. Stanzas 2 and 3 are where you'll find you best evidence. Do your own homework next time Bliss
