  • LOL not anymore. I've seen more stuff on Yahoo Answers. Believe me ;)
  • I haven't seen that. It is important, though, when discussing passages, to include the passage for reference purposes.
  • I have been known on occasion when giving an answer where I gave back up from the scriuptures to post an unusually long passage from the bible. I can see how that would be annoying though so I try not to do it too much.
  • I have seen some pretty long cut and pastes .Most are too long to read . A link would be easier. The Bible pasted as an answer would certainly be too much.
  • I believe in keeping it short and sweet. Evidentally, some people think a Genesis to Revelation response is necessary but I can guarantee you that it is overwhelming and is not read by many.
  • What awesome responsibility some people have! Even if somebody knew what the text was trying to tell them, you can't convey any reasonable message with all that text. It's like trying to eat a freaking porterhouse steak in one little bite. Bon appetite!
  • LOL ya think??? YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
  • Well, I supose we should be grateful its not the ten commandments! my laptop is heavy enough...
  • When people try to use the bible to find solutions to common sense problems most of them can avoid by focusing a little more on this life than the after-life, really bugs me. When they assume that everyone believes it and that because their version is printed in a language they understand that it is true. I can go on and on but, cutting and pasting the bible even reading it does not solve problems that are not being dealt with using hard work in this life. A promise of an after-life does not excuse one from living their current life.
  • You make a good point. It would be better just to cite the scripture and verse or quote just the relevant parts.
  • Sometimes it does. It would be nice if the people you refer to could submit their own thoughts within an answer, rather than quoting paragraphs from the bible.
  • The entire bible? Wouldn't that cause the system to go down? It would bother me.
  • Zack, that would be a very difficult task at best. I am assuming you mean that many here get "long winded" with their answers that seem to go on forever...lol. I can't agree more. Cut to the chase is the better way to go.
  • Yes it does. After reading 10 or 12 (or more likely 90 to 100) paragraphs, I forget what the original question was. Just answer the damn question already! }:-/ Less is more.
  • Not that it "Bothers" me but If your answering a question get to the point.. don't write a book about it, If someone wanted to read a book they could go to the library and read up on the subject.
  • The long biblical answers only seem to bury decent questions and answers. I have had the occasional exchange with others on AB if they got the number of that bus that just blew through. Actually I think it goes against the TOS of the site to copy and past copyrighted material without consent from the author.
  • Go for it if it makes you happy Zack...by the way Happy New Year x
  • I never "Cut and Paste" the Bible. I do however "Copy and Paste" some scriptures when my answer needs a scripture to back it up. However I know what you mean, and I can see that that would get annoying.
  • Sometimes. I prefer a straight answer
  • I don't mind.
  • It doesn't bother me. I've quoted scripture myself. That doesn't mean I've cut and pasted the entire Bible, though.
  • It bothers me that reasonable people still take the bible seriously at all.
  • yes, def. People need to get to the point, without rambling on, and on. Maybe actually thinking up statements on their own for a change.
  • I bothers me when you try, not when you tries.
  • I try not to put very long answers. The most recent long answer I gave was about the bible actually. It was about atheists favorite bible quotes. The ones I put were kinda long, but I think it's interesting enough because they were contradictions.
  • If people are wanting to use a certain verse or part of some scripture to give basis to their answer, or give an example pertaining to their point or what have you, there's no problem. What bothers me is when someone copies and pastes some religious text and uses that as their entire answer, and writes nothing else. I mean it's like, I asked for YOUR answer, not the Bible's, and frankly I'm completely biased against people who can't think for themselves. If you meant super long answers well I can't speak against it since I do it all the time. XD
  • Yes, it pisses me off to no end. Actually, I'm pretty sure you could read the whole Bible in about twenty different places right here on this website.
  • Highly! If I wanted Tolstoy, I'd quit AB and take up reading full time!!
  • No, but some couldcut it down a bit and just give references. But you have to commend them to trying to give all the facts that they know, I mean whats worse? omeone spouting out something they arent quite sure about or someone telling you a bit of facts to back up a point?
  • Shorter answers are more effective. They summarize your viewpoints and if you want to give details, that's what links are for.
  • So sayeth that unto AB, thou hast cut and pastedeth.
  • Some people go bonkers yo... What do they think? It's against the law? We would spend 8 hours answering the question ''How does an atomic clock work?'' or composing a list of the complete Beatles recordings, chronologically,...from memory????
  • I don't mind at all. These text fields can handle a lot of data.
