I just moved here myself. I think of the Scoth-Irish hillfolk who were my ancestors who moved here in the 1790's and moved out of Kentucky in the early 1800's. I came back. I think of horses. Beautiful scenery, the small mountains here are prettier than the big ones on the West Coast or the Rockies IMO. Some of the old culture still barely hanging on in the speech and music. It's a shame people still think that people in the hills still wear hats from the 1890's, and drive model T's, and don't none of 'em has got no 'lectricity. Most of this is from 50 year old cartoons. The REA came through in the 40's. I think the whole "hillbilly" thing keeps going because it is the only group left that is immune from PC.
