My parents tell me that I don't have to get a job. They think that I'll end up skipping out on college if I find a way to support myself. I can't honestly say that I won't. I don't particularly WANT to go to college, but neither of my parents did, and I don't want to end up like them, to be brutally honest. Still, I have my lapses in judgment on occasion. </off topic>

  • My parents bought me my first car. I remember it like it was yesterday. We were driving home from my grandparent's house which was 40 minutes away from where we lived, and as normal I was staring out the window as we passed each little city on the expressway. Then all of a sudden I yelled to my dad, "Turn around, turn around!" My dad freaked and was like, "What?!?! What's wrong!?!?" I then told him, "There is my dream car! I want that car!". He didn't even get a glimpse of it and he knew I liked oldies, so he got off the next exit and made the u-turn. When we got to the lot it was a beautiful 1965 2-door white Chevy Impala. Oh Man! I loved that car! My dad fell in love with it too. So we all got off the car and looked around for the owner. The owner was selling it for $3500, but was willing to give it away for $2500 if we took it right there and then. So my dad pulled out his checkbook and wrote him a check for $2500. I felt so bad cause my dad said it was their savings, but I could tell that he wanted that car too. We got there around 5:30 and didn't leave till 9:00 with my new (but old) car in tow. It was a fixer-upper, but it was definitely worth it! Now you know a memorable moment in my life.
