I tried making banana bread in a toaster oven, but the top of it burnt before the center was cooked. If I had put foil on the top of the loaf pan I used, would I have been able to prevent the bread from burning?

NO! not at all... toaster ovens are for toasting. they are capable of baking smaller items like maybe a brake and bake cookie... next time pput that banana bread in the oven!

You can bake banana bread in an oven. mine cooks unevenly so I need to turn the pan halfway through, also I suggest turning down the heat and cooking longer. Make sure to keep checking. If the top is looking brown but the inside isn't done, yes cover it with foil. Hope this helps.

Foil might help, but you would be better off cooking it in a shallow pan like brownies or cornbread. toaster ovens just don't have enough space between the top of your bread and the element.
