  • G'day Momma Bear, Thank you for your question. No, you should be delighted that she is showing the talent to make up songs and lyrics. Hopefully, she will grow up to be a famous singer/songwriter and buy her parents a mansion. :>) Regards
  • I think it's hilarious for starters. I hope that wasn't directed at other siblings for starters. It is a rather odd title for especially just a 3 year old's song. I wouldn't worry that much about it. I wouldn't encourage it but I would be interested upon how this ditty arose in the first place.
  • I don't think you need to worry. 3 year olds are always making up some 'nonsense' Using thier imaginations to make up new things is an important part of brain development. If you really worried, try to change the words when you sing along. Maybe: Be happy, or get hugged!! Best of luck.
  • Probably not, at 3 they don't really know. If there are any other lyrics listen to those before you get worried, if he/she seems to know things that someone of their age should not - that's when you get concerned. probably just repeating words and putting them together. It's good to be a concerned parent, trust your intuition though - I don't know you and I'm not there, if you feel there is something wrong, a mother usually knows best and take a closer look for sure. You can never be too careful.
  • I think you should be proud of her ability to make up a song and it sounds about right to me. She's obviously very talented and clever too when you think about it.. since most people are sorry, when they are not happy :)
  • Maybe a little, but don't freak out about it. I have a 7 year old sister, and a few weeks ago I overheard her chanting the words "Sew up the cat" under her breath. Just because a kid gets some words or an idea into their head doesn't necessarily mean they're "Disturbed", just imaginative, as kids tend to be. Of course, it could well mean that they're just disturbed *And* imaginative... But you get my point.
  • Nah. My 4-year-old hijacked a Sunday School song a while back, so instead of something to do with the "word of God," it was the "word of Cinderella" or something like that. I think at that age, they just sing about whatever trips their trigger at the moment.
  • 3-year-olds just do free-association about whatever pops into their heads; your child sounds like my two, putting the words to music. I wouldn't be at all worried personally. Once when my daughter was 3 she sang a serious 1-1/2 minute song about a recent episode where "... and my bonnom really hurt, but I couldn't poop, so I cried a little...", while I sat there trying not to laugh and wishing I had a recorder. My 3-year-old son sings about cars. - I also think that even if kids mention the word "kill" when they're older they don't really know what it means, of course, and I wouldn't worry about it unless it was directed toward a particular person or pet.
  • No i think is cute, kids make things up like that all the time.
  • i dont know but you better like it eh? just kidding it seems fine to me.
  • It sounds like his on version of Don't Worry Be Happy.
  • When I was little my mom would sometimes freak out about something i'd said or done in complete innocence. And all it ever caused was for me to wonder why she was upset and imagine all kinds of reasons why what I'd said or done was wrong. Does that make any sense? Okay for instance, If she hadn't pointed out that "It takes two to make a thing go right" was dirty and I shouldn't listen to it, i never would have thought it was about anything but dancing. But she made me realize it was about sex, and then I felt like I was dirty for listening to a silly song. So don't criticize your kids unless you see definite deviance. They probably don't even realize what they're saying isn't perfectly okay. I hope this helps...
  • Only if he has supernatural powers, otherwise I suggest you get him a musical instrument.
  • Haha The song actually made me laugh! You shouldn't be worried. Your child probably didn't mean anything bad by the "be sorry" part.. maybe just that if you aren't happy you should be sorry bc you're missing out on the fun! :) heehee I love kids. They say the best things!
  • Sounds like this child heard that phrase.....and then just put it to a tune...just be mindful of what your child hears....I wouldn't worry about it, not unless your child is exhibiting negative behavior.
  • did you have a child with Bobby McFerrin?
  • My brother brought his son to the doctor for a check up and the doctor said and how are you?He said I am ok now but later dad and I are gonna fight!Thank god my Mom was there and explained that they horse play at specific times because he is one of a set of triplets and being the only boy he is pretty rough. So my brother set a time for them to be rough to try and save the girls! Ah kids say the darndest things.
  • You should be happy,or....she sounds creative:)
  • Waaaaa haaa haaaaaaa!! That is hysterically creative! Excuse me.. . I'll finish answering when I stop laughing. Ok It's the diplomatic version of "Stop, or I'll give you a reason to cry"... Of course, at 3, a lot of things are sharply contrasted. I'd like to see the rest of the words. She may be onto something.
  • I have a 2 1/2 year old little girl that makes up songs like that all the time. I don't personally feel like you have anything to worry about, but if your not to sure, you might want to check into getting your child into a shrink.
  • Any Bob Marley influence in your household? ha ha
  • Hahahaha... Youve got to get a recording of that so you can play it at their high school graduation party, lol. That's precious!
  • NO NEED TO WORRY , THERE IS NO RUDE WORDS USED NO RACISM NO NEED TO WORRY VERY NORMAL HEALTHY PASSTIME !.. MAKING SONGS UP WHICH INCIDENTLY WITH KIDS ALMOST ALWAYS NEVER RHYME OR MAKE ANY SENSE BUT THEY THINK & EXPECT YOU TO THINK ARE BRILLIANT ??!! TAKE MY ADVISE PRAISE TO THE HEAVENS & BE THANKFULL
  • lol my sister used to sing "its raining its pouring someones getting a butt woopin" the first time she said it was hilarius and it was so funny that i didnt get the butt woopin she was singin about at the time cause me dad was laughin to hard to woop me.
  • well ask them what its about and then see if its about something bad be worried or something nice and or ok calm down a bit but you can still be a little unsure but im sure a three year old wouldn't sing about anything bad...
  • Yep, definately a Bob Marley influence there!....any recording studio's near you,.....he could earn you a fortune! ha ha...enjoy!"...it sounds harmless imagination.....encourage.
  • I heard my 2 two-year old singing in his bed one morning "Glory, Glory go to the supermarket" Now that's a good was to start the day !
  • He sounds like that omnipotent little kid from the old Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_a_Good_Life Seriously though, I have a cousin who was always making up really weird songs like this when he was little. Today he is a moderately successful local rapper and hip-hop producer. Go figure.
  • Not unless his name is Anthony and he talks about cornfields a lot. It's real bad if he likes the Twilight Zone or sees the ghost of Rod Serling!
  • No, now she understands.
  • u shud be veryworried shes a satan child just wait shell start doin other things like dark magic and voodoo
  • No, that's cute. Your 3 year old is just being creative in her/his own way!
  • Definatly not. Im 16 and I wish I could make up a title like that! :]
  • Why would you be worried? Your child is pretty smart. She has discovered that "sorry" is a synonym for "sad". The song makes sense; you're either happy or you're sorry, one or the other.
  • i wouldn't be worried... he's only 3 he'll prob. grow out of it
  • Not really, no! They really dont mean it. They may have picked it up from someone else... nothing to worry about because theyr'e not gonna hurt you or something because your not happy. My sister comes out with things like that... thats only because i have an older brother! Many Regards, Nicole
  • NO AT THE AGE OF THREE CHILDREN START TO GET INTRESTED IN MUSIC THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA FIND HE OR SHE WANTS YOU TO SING ALL THE TIME
  • No, I dont think you should be worried. They are just 3 years old and they will have a good time. It's nothing to be worried about!
  • Do you not remember the song with a carribean beat "Don't worry Be Happy"?
  • Nice one!!!LOL
  • Depends if there is violence involved or any weapons as props in her music video.
  • Your kid is going to grow up to be an eXtreme motivational speaker.
  • no that kind of stuff is normul i thank it is ok
  • That is so charming that he made the connection, plus being so creative at the age of 3. Wow!
