  • Depends on the cat, and how many mice you are talking about. Some cats have strong prey drives and will kill mice...others would rather just lay around and be pet. Also if you have a hoard of mice you can't expect 1 cat to solve your problems. People with cats can have mice in their homes too. However, we have several cats in our barn and I've yet to see a mouse.
  • 1) No chance with computer mice... 2) Yes, but Barn owls are more effective: "- Dogs - Contrary to popular belief, dogs can be better at killing mice than cats. That’s actually how rat terriers got their name. - Cats - Yes, cats injure rodents too, and then they play with them and kick them around your house before killing them and presenting them to you as a gift. awwwww, how cute. Cat’s trained to hunt rodents are called mousers. Neither cats nor dogs are completely effective by themselves. - Barn Owls - Barn owls are extremely efficient at getting rid of mice. One family of barn owls can eat up to 15 mice every night! Consider erecting a nesting box to attract them onto your property." • If you've got a good mouser, very effective. But even if it's just a lazy furball, it can keep mice from coming into it's territory by presence alone. A good mouser is a thing of great joy to own as you will rarely see one mouse, or chipmunk, or vole around your home:-)
  • It depends. Some cats aer better at getting mice than others :)
  • My "Steve" is a great mouser. I see a lot of dead mice around the yard. Along with a lot of dead other critters. He doesn't like to eat them. He will usually bring them to my dogs for a tasty treat.
  • My grandmother had rats in her ceiling that came up from the sewers. We could hear them running across the ceiling at night when everything was quiet. We later bought a cat for her and the cat would stare at the ceilings and start to meow when she heard the rats. After awhile, the noise disappeared and the rats seemed to have moved out.
