  • The rich. Effective tax rates for the very rich and fairly rich were deliberately dropped, on the basis that it would generate growth that would make up for the lost taxes. Less growth than expected has occurred, but the rich have paid much less tax.
  • The rich are getting richer; the poor, poorer. The oil moguls are swimming in cash... including "Dubya".
  • The economy of the wealthy elite who fund Bush's campaign stops is getting stronger, but mine certainly is not -- the next generation of Americans will be the first to have a lower standard of living than their parents. Mr. President, have your advisors told you that The Veterans Affairs Department has identified 1,500 homeless veterans from the current wars? In fact, young veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan are trickling into shelters and soup kitchens seeking services, treatment or help with finding a job.
  • The Bush-controlled oil business and the big corporations.
  • Yes, the wealthy are wealthier. I'm considered middle class, but I'm experiencing higher expenses and I have had to dip into my savings recently. I don't know how much longer I can do that. My annual pay raises are nowhere near my increases in my cost of living. I'm trying to cut expenses, but it's not easy when gas and state taxes are being raised.
  • The last 8 years have been very good for America's wealthy, which means the wealthy still like George W. Bush very, very much and they will pay very, very good money to hang out and have their pictures taken with him.
