  • If they were straightforward, then you need to do the same and say "no" and don't lead them on.
  • Tell them that it was nice to ask, but you aren't interested.
  • Just say no thank you. No excuses are necessary.
  • Tell them you're not interested!
  • Simply tell them that you don't see them in that way- but make sure to list some positive character traits about him or her. Then finish off by giving them a hug (optional) and saying how flattered you were by their offer (even if you weren't exactly thrilled). You don't want to seem like a heartless villian, but you also don't want to lead someone on...
  • say no thank you, I'm busy then. If you keep saying no, they should get the message.
  • Could make some excuse taking care not to offend the other person :-)
  • Say "No thanks, I'm busy".Usually when they start interrogating I smile and walk away. They get the idea.At least I was being polite.
  • This is rather ambiguous, etiquette-wise. There are two scenarios I can think of: Nice-manners boy says: "Charlotte, I seem to have two tickets to the orchestra next Friday night at seven. If you would care to join me, I would like to pick you up at 4:30 for an early dinner beforehand." Charlotte, having a prior arrangement (or at least a believable excuse) could then say: "Oh, dear NMB... I am sorry, but my darling sister and I will be visiting my Aunt Rose at her farm upstate." the other scenario: Rude-manners boy: "Charlotte... ya wanna go out sometime?" in which case Charlotte can say... pretty much anything, as no date has been set. I would choose something along the lines of "I go out often, RMB. Perhaps you'll see me around."
  • Make an excuse not to go out
  • Say NO!
  • say no thanks
  • Be honest and direct, but kind. "I'm sorry, ___, but I'm not interested. You're a very kind/lovely/nice/sweet/etc person, but I just don't think we'd be a very good fit." Or something to that effect. It's better to be honest than to lead them on, or lie.
  • JUST TELL THEM.............M.C.S.
  • Tell them the truth in a kind way.
  • There's absolutely nothing wrong with saying, "No, thanks." OR "No, thank you." In fact, you don't even have to say "Some other time." It doesn't pay to lie to that person and say, "I'm busy." . . . when you aren't. AND PLEASE don't accept and then three hours before the time of the date you call, e-mail or text: "We're gonna have to postpone for another time. I have a headache." . . . when you know you don't. OR "I have an emergency!!!" . . . when you know you don't. OR "I have a 911!!!!!!!!" . . . when you know you don't. For Heaven's sake: Just PLEASE be honest!n PLEASE give thqat person the same respect and honesty as you would expect to receive. Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! • Wow, it's been a long time since I was asked out on a date. When I was younger I think I used to tell they guy taht I had other plans, and keep telling him that till he gave up asking.
  • Sorry, But I am Currently in a relationship;)!!
  • JUST SAY NO SORRY!I LIKE YOU AS A FRIEND BUT NOT IN THAT SORTA WAY AND IM SORRY IF I LET U DOWN
  • I just go out with them that one time & leave it at that-depending. It's not going to kill me to go out with someone once.
  • i think you should say, "im sorry but i think i would rather be friends"
  • Its important to be honest with them, just say no thanks, or something to that end. If you try saying 'I'm busy' or something similiar then they may well just keep trying
  • Just tell them you're not interested.
