I didn't know what 'sutler' meant until you asked this question. I looked it up and found that sutler means 'a person who follows an army in order to sell provisions.' I had been going to say something like 'sutler rhymes with butler' or 'you obviously meant "sublter" not "sutler."' I suppose you could say something like 'Camp followers might include many people including the families of the soldiers, prostitutes, sutlers, etc.' I learned a new word today - I just hope I don't forget it before the day is out!
