  • There is a world wide hopps shortage. This was caused by several factors that came together at once. Several farmers plowed under their hopps vines to plant crops that would generate more income (corn and soybean prices have been climbing with the media publicity of ethanol and bio-diesel) and the growing seasons were not good (too little rain, bad weather, etc). There was also a fire at a one of the larger hopps storage warehouses which wiped out a lot of stored supplies. Look for beer prices, especially those that are heavily hopped like IPA’s to go up.
  • Our hop plants are overrun with hop weevil! The crop is ruined! Aaah!
