No - I use it to pour caustic bile upon others.
-
i use sarcasm because i find it funny... especially when the idiot i use it on doesn't get what i'm trying to say - lowest form of wit - highest form of intelligence and all that...
-
Sarcasm is the crowning jewel of my defense mechanism collection, sharing the throne with humor.
-
No. I amuse myself and initiate discussions with sarcasm. Most of the time, I agree with the person/people with whom I'm talking and want to emphasize a point. Sometimes (quite often, actually), my intentions are misunderstood (grossly), and I'm accustomed to that - it's OK. I'm not very good at it, however, so I need a lot of practice. most people do. I hate having to listen to old tired phrases and the sing-songy comebacks that are holdovers from the 50s. Please think up some new ones if you decide to sarcasm on me. That's really not too much to ask, is it?

I have at times in my life. When I was younger I was a pro at it. I've gotten a bit softer in my age.
-
Somewhat, yes. I tend to use it to diffuse tensions in certain situations, as well.
-
No. I think sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and kind of a cheap way of being funny.
-
No, sometimes life just requires it.
-
Maybe a time or two, I have been guilty.
-
Oh, I'm a master of that, unfortunately!
-
Sometimes I do....then I go cry:)
-
Sometimes I do. It seems to help for a little while, then I feel bad and get quiet inside and cry later.
-
wow! Great question....really makes me think....hmmm.... Well, I think I use sarcasm a lot when I have nothing better to say.....and coming to think of it, yes, it does put a shield/wall around me.
-
Yes. But I also just always use sarcasm.
-
No I'm not sarcastic. Or so I like to believe.
-
No. I use sarcasm to humor someone.
-
Yes, I use sarcasm as humour and protection
-
No. If I wish to protect myself, I walk away. If I am sarcastic, is is either with humorous intent or an expression of annoyance after reason has failed.
-
I used to, a lot. I think I did it more to hide the pain from myself than from the other person.
-
No, if i use sarcasm it is usually because i am hurt.
-
I have my 9 for that.
-
No I try not to use it. I find that most people who want to cause harm through words are really cowards that seek attention and the best way to hurt them is pretend they are not there.
-
I'm not a fan of sarcasm so my answer is "no". The only way to protect yourself from getting hurt is to trust yourself enough to know you will survive it. Putting up walls cuts you off from some really wonderful experiences..so you go out into the world, do your best and sometimes you win and sometimes you don't..but you survive! Sarcasm has no place in polite/civil discourse. :)
-
Nope. Blunt, brutal honesty is so much more interesting. The truth is a fun thing to use against people.
-
No, I use sarcasm as a way not to hurt others. It's usually subtle enough that you need a 140+ IQ to be insulted. So if I sound sarcastic, it's a complement.
-
i only use sarcasm if i know its going to make someone laugh.
