50% more is 1.5 times. 50% less is 50% left behind = half what you start with. So the question is really: If oldest earns 1.5 times middle and youngest earns half of oldest. o = 1.5 m y = 0.5 o o + m + y = 260 1.5 m + m + 0.5*1.5m = 260 3.25m = 260 m = 80, o = 120, y = 60
