01)Starting from the moment you inserted bread pieces in toaster & switched the power on- Electrical energy will get converted in to heat energy, Amount of heat generated(H)will be, H= i*i*R*t, where i is the current, R is the resistance of the coil which heats up, & t is the time during which the power remain on.If the bread pieces are in direct contact with the coil then heat is transferred through conduction. If there is a gap of air between the bread & the heating element then heat is transferred through radiation. 02) If the toaster is pop up type, then when you pressed the knob of the spring,after inserting the bread pieces, then you stored kinetic energy(your muscle power) in the form of potential energy.When the bread pieces warmed as per setting, these will pop out,with the conversion of that potential energy in kinetic energy, which was stored in the spring.
