  • Let's put it this way, pocket lint is smarter.
  • According to Wikipedia: "As of 2001, no official IQ data for George W. Bush had been made available to the public, and none have been published to date. Bush had better grades in college than both Al Gore (who still did graduate cum laude, contrary to Bush), and John Kerry."

  • Have you ever noticed how liberals prefer to dismiss Republicans as stupid? They have done it to all of the last three Republican presidents. Why is this do you think? Could it be that these people are just not intelligent enough discuss substantive matters? Could it be that it makes them feel superior when they take cheep shots at other people's characters? Well, let me ask you to consider something. If all of these men were idiots, then what does that say about the liberals that keep loosing to them politically? -------------------- Big Daddy wrote, “Yes they bitch because so many no longer have a home, a job, a son and so many other things they had before he was president. “ And how long are you going to complain about that before you look at what actually happened? The problems with the economy are primarily related to the bursting of the housing market and the financial chaos that that created. Why did the housing market go bust? Because banks were forced by government intervention to lend money to people who could not repay it. The laws forcing these loans were passed during two different periods in which Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House (under Carter and Clinton; http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo125.html http://sbvor.blogspot.com/2009/02/bill-clinton-and-community-reinvestment.html). To protect the banks from these bad loans two quasigovernmental agencies (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) were created to buy up the loans. They then started packaging these bad loans with some number of good loans than then selling to other institutions in a way such that they could not tell what they had. They did not know how many good and bad loans were in these packages. It was when these other institutions began to realize that they had no way of know what the true values of these packages and stopped buying them that things suddenly went bust. The thing is that there were people who realized that there was a problem before it became a crisis. One of these people was President Bush. He started warning of a potential disaster back in 2001 (http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/bush-called-for-reform-of-fannie-mae.html). The Democrats ignored him. McCain also warned of a problem (http://americanelephant.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/bush-and-mccain-each-tried-to-reform-fannie-mae-democrats-blocked-them-both-times/). Many, many other Congressional Republicans warned of problems from this and the Democrats continued to stonewall reform (see video below). So, who is responsible for the current economic troubles? It certainly wasn’t the President Bush or the Republicans. It was the Democrats who forced reforms on the housing finance industry that led to the collapse. It was Republicans that warned of the pending disaster and it was the Democrats who turned the other way and prevented any reforms that could have headed of the mess with which we are now dealing. So, you can continue to try to blame Bush for the current problems if you like. However, until you are willing to open your eyes and look at what really happened, you will keep electing people that will keep doing this to us.
