  • My understanding is that wiccans usually "cast the circle" and then recite an acknowledgement of the moon's energies. This is followed by a threefold ringing of a bell and an annointing (feet, knees, womb, breat, lips, etc.). Then there's the charge of the goddess and then Magick/meditation, Cakes and refreshing beverages, and closing the circle. Some Quarter Calls are often added as well. But let me say this (cuz I've always thought this was odd): How can there be "traditional" ways to celebrate something that's only been in existence for about 85 years? Is it not well known that Margaret Murray made up this term sometime around 1920 (deriving it from the Old French "esbat")? Check it out.
