  • It seems to be a reference to a passage in the Bible. In the King James Version we have Psalm 84:7, referring to men, not to lions. I quote: "How blessed is the man whose strength is in You [that is: God], In whose heart are the highways to Zion! Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a spring; The early rain also covers it with blessings. They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appears before God in Zion." Notice that the passage is talking about a JOURNEY. I think a reasonable interpretation is: "They go from one position of strength to yet another position of strength."
