  • Is there a sulphur spring nearby? chances are, a tree root has expanded into new territory and forced the sulphur water to the surface or under your house. go find a geological survey map of your area, the corps of engineers has such a map. see what existes under and around your house. you may find your answer there.
  • Maybe your bratty nephew dropped an egg salad sandwich down there? That would do it. :D
  • A single person checked?Were they certified?,I would think that the heat exchanger in the furnace would need to be removed and checked first,then looking in the ducts for foreign matter,then a sniffer for the other things,like the water table around your house.
