I do. I had a friend that did it all of the time. I wouldnt go anywhere with them if thats what they were wearing.
-
yes i think it looks horrible
-
Socks are o.k and sandals are o.k. but together they are a fashion mess.
-
It's not the best fashion statement, but as a person with sometimes painful foot problems, I can empathize. If that's how it is most comfortable for someone to get around, I'm not gonna turn up my nose at it.
-
It is not very appealing to the eye and I have never done it but it looks comfy:)
-
Ew yes.
-
I do it and don't care what anyone thinks about it! My feet are healthy, comfortable and clean when I wear socks with my sandals. I dress well and if I choose to wear socks they will match my outfit and be in excellent shape. It helps keep my feet from cracking in the summer and keep them from overheating in the winter. It also protects my sandals, making them last longer and look good while they do. I have never been a slave to fashion, finding most ideas of what is fashionable to be silly and pretentious.
-
Not one bit. The day I start complaining about that, that will be day free of any other kind of worry.
-
I love it. It's fabulous!
-
Wearing socks with sandals is like wearing a black suit with white socks showing. Straight out of the Bubba World.
-
Ahh that's one of my biggest pet peeves. Sandals let your feet breathe people! Can't breathe if they've got socks on... and I find it looks silly :p
-
I have better things to do with my time than worry about whether or not people wear socks with their sandals. For example, I prefer to make sure that I get the word "you" spelled correctly.
-
I don't hate it, but I don't like the look of it.
-
No it is their fashion statement of a by-gone day. One that will possibly one day return. It is a free country we can do as we please and wear what we please as long as it does not offend others and so I suggest you get stewed up about things that matter and not about a matter of socks!
-
My feet were cold, so I just put on a pair of socks with my sandals. Blush!! :D
-
Doesn't bother me, I do it.
-
Nope..I don't hate anybody.
-
No, I don't hate it, I think it looks preety daft. I pity them - obviously they have nobody to tell them how silly they look!
-
Doesn't bother me you can do what you want you can wear socks with womens pumps I couldn't care less that is your business. I dont care if women wear mens clothes or men wear womens clothers, you have the right to make your own choices in life and fashion and how you feel in general.
-
I hate it when people wear sandals.
-
No, I don't worry about small things like that.
-
It's mainly a European thing, so fortunately I don't have to see this particular fashion crime too often. LOL. But do I hate it? No. What a silly thing to hate!
-
I dont like it, in fact it is my one pet hate, but i dont 'hate' as in hate the people. I just think people who dress like this dont realise how silly they look.
-
As a person who has a skin disease on my feet, wearing socks and sandals makes perfect sense to me. I wear sandals to keep my feet dry because if they sweat, then bad things happen to my skin. I wear socks so that my feet dont rub against the sandal, which would cause another problem with my skin. It's probably not "in style" but neither were most things that are done today at one time. I'm sure several years from now it will be the thing to do.
-
NO
-
No.I do it all summer.
-
it looks like yuckh
-
Yes I hate it.
-
not arsed some people carnt afford either
-
Its not the most attractive thing but hey, it's comfortable.
-
i love wearing sandals but never with socks
-
Yes
-
Oh dude!!! That is the daggiest thing in the world! I'm sorry...but it is!!
-
yes, it is very dorky. They should be on 'what not to wear' on tlc
-
I hate it when men do. For some reason, I'm fine with women wearing them. It's not really a sexist thing. Just a fashion thing. Women tend to get cold feet, literally.
-
This was studied on several campuses by a psychometrist, Lipmann (1988). He found that the vast majority of those in the uppermost quintile who wore sandals also wore socks with them. Results were that average intelligence had no correlation (some did, some did not wear both). Those who were in the lowest quintile (down to bordering functional retardation) were the only ones who cared whether others wore socks with their sandals.
-
With Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt yo?...
-
Because you look like a geek?
-
The socks sabotage the point of sandals...which is expose those toes! Also, have you SEEN what it looks like?
-
Good question. I don't think it is, if they are casual sandals and the rest of your outfit is casual as well.
-
mmm.because it looks STUPID ?
-
Because it said that you can't dress yourself and that you have no class.
-
sandals are usually open toe...so why would you want the freedom of bare feet covered in socks? just wear shoes if you want to wear socks.
-
because it does not look right.
-
I don't know but I always make my kids wear socks with sandals .
-
LOL - I've just read a bunch of answers and it's clear to me, I'm in the "uh oh" category! I do both - bare feet - and socks. So why answer the question when it's clear I'm going to look stupid and a fashion disaster or geek? Well, maybe there are other folks out there wearing socks with sandals. Be brave, cover footed folks -- and carry on. At the end of the day? Wear whatever you like - however you like. But always be polite and kind. LOL
-
Need I say more?
-
The point of sandals is to expose your feet and keep them cool, if you want to cover them up you should wear shoes. My dad used to wear socks with sandals and me and my mom would go crazy...he never got it. lol
-
It looks ridiculous and defeats the purpose of wearing sandals which is to allow your feet to breath
-
At the Jersey Shore, it immediately identifies you as a bennie or shoebee.
-
Is wearing peep-toe snow boots a no-no?
-
They are two different classes of clothes: dress & casual. It's like wearing a dress tie with a T-shirt!
-
Because it looks ridiculous and I hate to see people with socks and flip flops.
-
Because people have very small and narrow minds. Read on. I have worn socks (the very low cut ones) with sandals because I have ugly toes that have toenail fungus. And, have also have had injury to my toes that would not let me wear shoes (they hurt too much and the bandage would not fit in the shoe). It is a matter of preference and no one has the right to set a mandatory style or criticize someone who dresses different than they. I point to the young men with pants so large and low that you can see their underwear and sometimes a lot more. And the females who have to shave their pubes so the hair doesn't show over the top of their pants. These people sure don't like to be criticized because of the way they dress. The people who wear socks and sandals don't like to be criticized either.
-
It's douchey!
-
It wasn't in the 90's, LOL!
-
It's all the rage in the retirement communities in Florida!
-
Fashion rules are completely arbitrary based on whatever a group of people have been told by their "leaders". If one popular person says "Socks with sandals is gross", then all their groupies believe it. If someone who gets paid by the clothing industry to tell everyone else what the rules are, then many people believe it. I make my own clothing rules, and I get a lot of guff from the Fashion Police, but I don't care. I have also sold some of my original designs so who is right?

Britain became Great on the backs of effeminate young men from public schools striking out in to the dark corners of the empire to tame savages, slay dragons and Chinamen, level mountains, hold back the sea, and enjoy the company of their fellow public school graduates…and they did all that wearing poncey sandals with socks. That is what made Britain Great.
-
I dont think people really understand the significance of our history if socks would of been worn with sandels. Do you think people would of taken William Wallace seriously if he would of wore socks while fighting The most ruthless King of England? Do you think the Gladiator would of won his freedom if he wore socks? Religion might be different today if Jesus the son of God wore socks with his sandels. No......socks don't belong with sandels. Just worn around the house should be sufficient..Thank you.
-
Goodness no XD
