i think before we can answer this question, we have to establish that magic does exist. if we take that magic does exist, black magic may be a branch of it that deals with evil or the dark side.

There is no magic (unless you mean the magic tricks practiced by illusionists). There are plenty of people out there who HOPE they can do magic, and try to do so with spells/prayers and so on. Some of those people believe there is such a thing as "black" magic, meaning dangerous or evil magic. Nope. No good magic, no bad magic, no magic. Just people who want to believe that they have the power to attract evil or attract good in the world by prayers, spells, etc. etc.

There are negative spells, yes and there are those practice this kind of magic exclusively. But really all magic has its degrees of 'black' and 'white' as all people have elements of 'good' and 'bad.' Magic exists...it exists in everyday mundane things as well as being a result of a full-blown spell.

I do not believe that magic has a color. "White" magic is supposedly good magic - that used to help or heal. "Black" magic is supposedly bad magic - that used to gain at the expense of others. Magic is a force. A good analogy is electricity. Is there "good" electricity? Is there "bad" electricity? In short, is electricity either inherently good or intrinsically evil? No. There are good USES of electricity (medical equipment) and bad USES of electricity (electrocution). This brings us back to intent. It is the magician/witch's intention that is good or bad. The magic itself is neither. On a side note, I do not associate black with evil or "bad." I associate it with night, with rest, with the Womb of the Mother, with the receptive side of polarity (black being the result of a material absorbing all visible light waves and reflecting none), and with endings. The idea of black is bad and white is good is a product of good vs. evil dualism, which is not part of Wiccan theology.

Magic energies exist ... gathering them, focusing them, and using them requires knowledge, skill, and intent ... it is the intent of the caster that gives magic its "color" ... if your intentions are malicious and evil, then your spells will shade the magic darker ... the stronger and more malicious & evil the intentions of the caster, the darker the magic becomes ... to make magic "black" the caster must have extreme intentions of deep evil.

yes it does exist. if there is good magick then there has to be bad magick or negative magic done to harm somebody. it is a dark form of magick.

i dont thin that magic really has a specific colour, but many, and each with more than one meaning. E.G, red magis can be focused for love or for hate, green magic can be focused for luck or for envy, etc. i can see why the catagories have been provided as a basic guide line for people to help them understand. There is a colour of magic that you mayhave heard of and this is grey magic. this is what magic really is, not actually the colour grey, but a mixture of black and white, good and evil. grey is a mixture of the two. Magic just is!!! it is a force that can be used like any other thing in this world, for great good or for great evil. it all depends on the host (person) who harneces this power. if they use it for good then it is considered to be white! if they use it for bad then it is considered to be black magic. but really it is still ust grey! it is still simply magic, that has ultimatly been put to either the right or the wrong use. i hope this has helped, if not message me and i will try to explain a little better. all the best A Friend.

Yes, it is very real, and many people practice it. I personally practice white magic.

Without physical contact the only thing that can affect you is what you allow into your perception of life and things that are around you. Do you believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? Do they bring gifts or leave eggs hidden in the bushes? Mr Bill

Yes, MCam23, there is black magic. It exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no black magic. It would be as dreary as if there were no MCam23s. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
