  • Yes i was one but now i can't because of my kid.
  • i think so maybe you`ll get more answers when the sun goes down
  • I know I am. I can wake up early and go places, but I'm really not "all there" until 3 or 4 pm. and then I wake up more and more, so when I get home from work at 11:00 or midnight, I feel most like doing something.
  • I would emphatically have said yes when I was younger. Now my eyes are at half mast by 10 p.m.
  • Yes, I believe some people are just "wired" that way. I'm much more a morning person. If I stay up late it's mostly at home, watching TV or using the computer.
  • Yes. I am very much a nocturnal type. Sadly for me, the world does not revolve around me.
  • I think so. I worked night shifts for years and I never felt well rested, but many of my coworkers really seemed to thrive on working the midnight to 8 AM shift and then go home and mow the lawn, etc.
  • HOLY CRAP! People can be naturally nocturnal! that opens alot of doors for me!
  • i am... i get up around 1.. not awake till bout 4.. then im completely wired when i come home from work at 9 or 10 or 11
  • I say yes...My dd is very much a night owl and prefers to be more focused and creative after 10pm. She frequently will stay up and draw etc and show me her creations in the am. Even when I was pregnant with her, she was most active when I was trying to sleep ..lol..She remains the same today at 11yo.
  • Yes there are Larks (early risers and Owls night birds). You can usually find info on this under sleep disorders!!!!
  • i am the most nocturnal i am up at 5:07 am right now i would go to sleep if i could but i cant i wake up usually around 3 or 4 pm
  • I'm pretty nocturnal. I like having the time to myself at night when no one else is awake.
  • I'm starting to believe my 4 year old is!
  • i definitely am..always have been even when i was a kid
  • That would make sense as to why no matter what hubby and I do to try and "fix" our schedule to where we're up at 'normal hours' we always go to bed sometime in the AM and wake up in the PM!
  • Well it's nice to see I'm not alone. I have been this way as long as I can remember. My mother said I had my days and nights mixed up as a baby and I'm like Mom I still do.One takes a lot of flack from day people about not being able to get out of bed like they do. I say to them, would you be baking bread at midnight and ofcourse they say no and I say well if you want to know what I'm doing its the same as what you do only I do it at night. Some have the audacity to think someone who stays up late is lazy. When I stopped defending myself and no longer cared what they thought things got a lot better concerning my own self esteem. I got tired of people thinking there was something wrong with me because I am not a day person. When the crap hits the fan at 2 AM. who do they call? You guessed it. So we do have our value. Nightowls unite and let's not take crap from the day people anymore.
  • i know i am..even was as a kid
  • Owl say yes... :)
  • I was sleeping 5 min ago until my mom woke me up!
  • wwhaeeeyy! nocturna; folk! I have to go uni all day though and party all night so rarely get sleep! Tonight theres no party and I'm still not catching up on sleep even though I've had about 5 hours in the last 2 days!! My parents are like it too though! My mum so much so she looks after my lil sis all day and still works as a nurse 8pm till 7am just because she wouldnt sleep anyways!! pshh!
  • yes I am nocturnal...I love the night
  • All my life i've struggled to get the important errands done before banks and stores close for the day. I have always had to have a list by my bedside so I know what has to get done when I rise because I'm so out of it till bout 3-4 p.m. With more research I'm learning that this is just the way I'm made. I'm glad I'm not alone.
  • omg yes! wow now i have an excuse and i don't need to feel guilty about it anymore. thank you so much!
  • Must be. Not some but a very large percentage of people. That would explain the energy cisis. Too many people using power for lighting at night whereas they should actually be using daylight for all their chores.
  • I am a night person, always have been
  • Yes! I am!
  • I'm a night-owl. I come to life when the sun sets...Awoooooooo!!! ♪♫I love the nightlife...I like to boogie♫
  • Its nice to be aware at night especially in summer..not so much in winter though..lol
  • Yes, me.
  • I don't think so. I think it's either a choice or something that happens over a certain period of time (that person's body getting used to being awake during those hours). Someone who works the graveyard shift might be a nocturnal person. Insomniacs might be nocturnal. Basically, anyone who doesn't have any responsibilities before 12 pm are more likely to be nocturnal, in my opinion.
  • yes there are natural nocturnals.we are what we are! i can not stand the sun for too long, the day noise is way too loud. Seeing so many people till this day i have not gotten uses to(by the way i love people, i just don't needed to be around so many.) society needs to stop labling us and the forcing of becoming a day person. we were not created that way. My fellow nocturnals i am sure you may feel the same way as i do. Being a night person is bitter sweet. why do people always assume when i say i am a night person that means i like to party? lol. peace
  • I was and still am a night owl. My mother used to say that I was like that since the day I was born. It's very difficult to be a night owl in a world that prefers to live in the daylight. I don't really like it, since everything work at daylight so I have no choice than to work and live at daylight as well. Most of the times I feel tired, and I know for a fact that my productivity rhythm and my brain only work at 50% during the day, and at the opposite side, my thoughts are clearer when the night falls, I even feel hungry more (I rarely eat much at day), my productivity increases and I actually feel less tired. I even have a night jogging exercise which is great. It's pretty hard really, and night jobs suck, not many real night job opportunities anyway, so no choice for me, especially when -in a country like Greece-, daylight and sun is important and also the rule during the year and seasons. Damn, I'm gonna move in Scandinavia, Alaska or North Pole! :-D Read this very interesting article in nocturnals, it's very enlightening for any of you. I think we must create a movement or something. :-P http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/134115/the_truth_about_nocturnal_people.html?cat=5
  • Check this out as well: http://science.qj.net/FASPS-Gene-Identified-Non-Morning-People-Now-Have-Genetic-Excuse/pg/49/aid/66722 It seems that nocturnals have a genetic differentiation that makes us nocturnal and also make the relative adjustments to our body as well. I will provide any information necessary, because being nocturnal and being insomniac, should not always relate to each other.
  • http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/134115/the_truth_about_nocturnal_people.html?cat=5 Not only are they, but it's not a sleep disorder, it's just a biological difference. Humans have always needed guardians of the night--other people to watch their backs as they sleep, so it makes sense for nature to have created people in any society specifically for that purpose.
  • I could use myself as an example, but I've never quite figured out what my problem is. I don't know if I have a sleep disorder or not, but I love the night. I'll spare the reasons why, but it just seems natural to me. Ever since I was little it was like this, and I don't quite remember ever being afraid of the dark. The thing is, I don't like the day, and the reason I don't wanna talk about the reasons why is because in my mind, these are emotional and personal opinions, rather than biological factors which may make someone nocturnal. However, my reasons probably ARE scientific in nature, rather than being exactly as how I perceive them. I can't sleep at night. It just doesn't happen. I mean I just lay there for hours, no matter how tired I get. In the day, if I lay in my bed or on the couch with all the lights on and music blaring, I'll pass out in two minutes, so I don't know if it's a sleep disorder. However humans are naturally diurnal since our senses are made for the day, especially sight which is primary. But with the advancement of technology that may change and people can adapt. Despite this, there is absolutely nothing in my life or in my reasons which would justify a nocturnal existence; it just is. Unless it's subconscious, which I'm kinda doubting. So to answer your question, I have no clue, all I know is that I'm in school right now and I still stay up all night long. Emotionally, the night seems to make me happy and gives me some kinda energy, but no, I don't believe in vampires, and Goth is just a fashion statement, for all those who might, after reading this, think I'm 15.
  • im more active and creative at night, unfortunatley i cant just sleep in the day so it tends to creep up on me
  • every last mamal, perhaps creature is naturally nocturnal. Good people just have pride that provides arrogance for research black and white statistical studies.
  • And another interesting thing is that there has been a gene identified (as hPer3 gene--human period 3 gene) in nocturnal persons: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12841365
  • Yes I think they are.
  • i truly beleive i am ;-)
  • Yup, and my brother is 1 of them.
  • Yes. I am. I have incredible night vision. My energy levels are higher at night than during the day (especially if there's a full moon out). That's proof enough for me.
  • I use to be as a kid.
  • yes, i am...
  • I think so. I think that I am one of them.
