Yes, white is a colour.
-
Yes. I have also heard that white is the absence of color.
-
Some People call it a shade, as with gray and black. These are usually classified as shades.
-
white is the absence of color
-
My understanding is that white is the absence of color. At least that's what I learned in Art and Physics classes. ;-)

Depends on if you're working with light or pigments. If you're working with light, white is red+blue+green, so white is a color. If you're working with pigments, white is the absence of color.

I don't know where to check(if someone does please tell me) but i remember hearing that as the spectrum goes whit is all colors and black is the absentse of color. iknow seem the other way around should be true; thats why i remembered it; does any one else know where it came from and which is true?

"Officially" white is the lack of color.

White is technically the combination of all colors in the visible spectrum. Also objects that are white tend to reflect if not 100%, at least the vast majority of light projected onto them. So yes it's also a color as there are shades of white as well.
-
It is the reflection of the full visible spectrum (around 450nm - 700 nm) of lightwaves and can include lightwaves outside of the visible spectrum. The key is that is the reflection from a surface.

YES. With "light" White is a blend of ALL colours, while black is the absence of colour. With "paint and dyes" White is something yet to be coloured, while black is something so coloured and so dark that it has all colour. ... funny how that works ...

In RGB color theory, white is the combination of all color, and black is the absence of color. In CMY color theory, black is the combination of all color, and white is the absence of color. In computer graphics terms, black and white are colors, because anything with a value, any value, including a value of 0, is a color. In design terms, black, white, and the shades of gray are not colors, they are neutrals.

to me it is colour
-
White is the combination of ALL colors.
-
White is technically achromatic, and not a color, since it has no hue
-
White is a tint when talking about paints, etc. and a combination of all colours when talking about light.
