  • 1600 - 2400 sq feet. $200k - $300k + (depends if it is on or near the water and if it is new construction or not). $175k+ for 1200-1600 square feet (existing homes between 10 and 50 years old). Newer homes are mainly built either beach style on stilts or country classics like Cape Cod styles with gables and shutters and dormers etc.
  • Yay, people are paying just to move out of my city. You can get a 3 bedroom house with 2 baths here for about $80,000--if even. It's a relatively depressed area, despite it's good points.
  • I searched around my area quite a bit before I purchased my home over 2 years ago. The house I bought was reasonably priced compared to similar homes in the area. I live about an hour north of Pittsburgh and purchased my 1300 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 car garage home on 1 acre of property for about $125,000. Comparable homes in the area cost between $140,000 and $185,000.
  • It really depends on the area, square feet, appraisal value, etc.. If a new home at around 3,000 sq. ft. one can run you as high as 500K where I live.
  • NY city area/Westchester county $450,000-550,000 for a 2000 square foot 3 bedroom.
  • 2000-3000 sq ft here range from $125-$300k...depending of course
