• Find out your grandmother's name, where she was born, where her family came from, and that should point you on your way to figuring out what Clan she belonged to. If you could find out her paternal grandfather and great grandfather, that would help as well.

  • Each clan is divided into septs, or sub clans. If your grandmother was a Scot, then she should have either a clan or a sept surname.
