  • They feel hurt, but move on quickly to other relationships to fill the void.
  • Yes, i do anyway.
  • Yes they do, but not as hurt as some girls feel.
  • yes of course they do!! but some guys less than others
  • Yes, men and women both feel emotions, and both feel those emotions just as strongly and just as deeply. It is just that in our culture, males are taught not to express those emotions openly and honestly- instead, they repress them. The fact that you do not see them express their emotions does not mean they don't feel them.
  • It depends... I would say that if a guy feels bad, he really likes you, if he does not, you know that he's just another playa...
  • As much as women do.
  • If they loved with their heart, yes.
  • Yes of course they do if they were emotionally involved. Men are no less likely to be hurt than a women in the same situation.
  • Of course, but they don't usually feel comfortable enough to show it. The real pain usually hits during the early morning hours when no one is watching.
  • Me and my girlfriend broke up today, and so in answer to your question...Yes. We do feel hurt, well i do at least...and i can sympathise with women who say they feel hurt, it's not nice.
  • If they cared for the person, yes. But most of them don't show it.
  • They are human, aren't they. Sure they do. The more the girl meant to them, I would imagine the hurt would be most unbearable...
  • Sigh. Every man is his own man. Everyone has their own personality; no one can answer this question, truthfully yes or no. The answer is dependant on the man in question.
  • I'm a man and I am hurting a lot after my last breakup (It's been a month and I'm still hurting really bad) So yeah.. we do hurt some times ;(
  • Of course. Men are humans too, that have emotions. No one likes to be rejected, or to have to reject someone else. They just don't show it like we do.
  • Obviously. Men are humans with the same human emotions as women. I'm not aware of any hormone or chemical produced by the male organs that block human emotions.
  • It’s been 5 months after my last breakup and am still hurt really bad to.
  • yes. I still hurt from 25 years ago.
  • Yes men feel hurt. its been 5 months for me I thought I was getting over it but then you hit a bump in the road. Im finding Im thinking about her again and I dont know why? Ive been on lots of dates after the breakup, and I find myself getting cold feet when I go on dates, im unsure if I really want to get to know someone that close again.
  • yes, if not more then a woman, we dont have the support of friends that women have, guys have to get over the break up on their own while woman have friends to help them and support them.
  • For some its a micro second. Then they find someone else and forget all about you.
  • oh of course!
  • Of course we do. I'd like to say the same about some of the cruel women but I can't. Yes, this can make a grown man cry and feel real hurt for quite a while. I am a real person and would only form a real relationship. I am a kind hearted man and am devastated by the loss of any dear companion that I gave my heart to.
  • Doesn't seem like it. Or, I would never know.
  • I do... I think that those who have feelings do!
  • well, my life ended after that last one.
  • Do penguins fly? spoiler alert no
  • Sure. We're just better at disguising it.
  • Sure guys feel hurt most of them even resort to self abuse, this is a lame question it's like askin "do women pee?" of course they do!!!!
  • I spent almost as much time in mourning as my last relationship lasted. 2.5 years! I quit my job and could eat for a week.
  • Of course they do.
  • Well its certainly not a vanity thing, I know this will make me sound very superficial but I was the good looking one in the couple hell I was a D1 NCAA soccer player so I was/am still am pretty fit. The best I can figure is she really did feel like we didnt have a relationship anymore or she just decided she wanted to move on to other experiences. I know its her loss, nobody could ever love her like I did/do and someday she is going to relize her mistake. Hopefully by then I have moved on, I dont want to be with someone that can so easily throw away everything we had worked on over a few minor complications like a busy work schedule and a internship in new york. I do actually feel much better today.
  • Sheesh, guys have emotions too. Anybody can be hurt after losing something they cared about. Genders got nothing to do with that fact.
  • im not a guy but this is what i think lol... I think men are just as human as women are. They have the same emotions we do. Just because we dont see them as often in males does not mean there absent. unlike women, they hurt or mourn or cry when they are by themselves in their own privacy, not infront of others. It is just the genetic instinct of a man. Were built different, but the same...
  • Not really as i am still dating!!
  • Elinor, thank you so much for you words of kindness and wisdom. Your really have no idea how much you helped, but I am moving on and I even went out tonight and got a phone number of a very cute girl and I havent cried in 4 days, I know thats not all there is to it but I am making progress and I can honestly say it is in no small part to you. Your are a god send, an answer to my prayers. Thank you.
  • DAMN IT GUYS ARE HUMAN BEINGS, AND THEY HURT JUST LIKE WE DO!!!!!!!!!
  • yes, they do just deal with it differently that is all
  • Of COURSE we do! Hello? DUH!
  • My ex didn't feel hurt, he had his long time g/f to take care of him :(
  • For the last time those aren't tears I just had extra water pockets in my eye lids.... hold me.
  • Not the ones I dated... They latched on to others before running away. They never really cared about me, if they had they would not have left. Since they never cared or loved me and I did love and care about them it only makes sense that I was/am hurting and they couldn't care less.
  • I asked a question like this, and everyone told me that guys do hurt after a breakup. I even asked my ex if he was hurt by our breakup and he said he was. I believe that they are hurt, but I don't think they hurt as much as females do. Of course, it depends on the person. Have you seen the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall? It's pretty funny. That guy was hurt.
  • Depends on the guy, depends on who broke up with who, and depends on HOW and WHY the breakup occurred. Trust me when I say, if the girl breaks up with the guy, the majority of them, especially those emotionally invested in the relationship, will feel hurt and it may take some time for him to get over it. If the guy isn't emotionally invested, then while he may feel a little upset, he probably will not "hurt" for very long. If the guy is insensitive in the first place, then he probably will NOT feel that hurt, but don't be surprised if he is, if he's inexperienced in relationships. Most abusers will feel upset and rage that they have lost control of the situation. (Be careful, there!) Even so, some will believe that the way they treated the girl is the way it SHOULD be done - These usually grew up in abusive situations. These are the ones that MAY feel hurt. And, if a guy breaks up with a girl because he has another "on the hook", then he may not feel anything, but a little sorrow that the ex is "taking it so hard." Just look through a lot of AB's relationship questions, and you will see that YES... Guys hurt. Not all of them, but a good portion DO.
  • I think I answered this before but I want to answer again. They feel hurt but they have the discipline to supress it and move on with what needs to get done. I know this to be the absolute truth.
  • if we cared, we do!!
  • OF COURSE!!!!
  • You better believe we do. Next week would've been our 10 year anniversary. We've been apart for about 3 weeks, and last week she unloaded some truth to me that just wrecked me completely. She knows I'm thrashed and broken. She says she loves me but, I don't believe it whole heartedly.
  • People who normally get hurt after breakups are the ones who were really in love with their partners.....I always get really hurt....
  • yes we do feel pain and do mourn the loss of a relationship. Especially if that other person who broke up with us meant alot to us.
  • Some do, especially if it was not their idea. When they love or care for their s/o, they will hurt after a breakup.
  • To Elinor-- they have the "Discipline" to suppress it? Totally unhealthy!? WTF?? Get over yerself girl or guy (unsure)
  • Probably but I assume that most show it less and get over it a little faster? Although there are exceptions to every rule.
  • Depends on if they have already emotionally left or not?
  • uh...yeah. last time i checked were all human. but the level of hurt depends on the relationship.
  • You think we dont have feelings?
  • No, we are impervious to pain of any kind. We feel nothing. We are drones with empty souls.
  • what kinda question is that, ofcourse dudes get hurt after a break up, unless the chick was a bitch and wasnt worth it and he realized it, then no it wouldnt hurt as bad but there would still be a little hurt, it depends on how the relationship was, and i know i was hurt more than anything after the last relationship that had 2 end, i was miserable that girl was perfect in everyway and i lost her, after so much we had 2 go through together.
  • Yes. A very good friend of mine was divorced about 12 years ago. It hurt him badly. She cheated on him a lot, beat down his confidence to nothing. Then the evil things she did during and in the years after the divorce, hurting him through his daughter made it even worse.( She admitted to him that she accused him, both his parents and his friends of molesting the girl, just because she could, and that he couldn't do a thing about it. He sunk into a deep depression, and stayed in that black place for years. He finally made the clinb up out of darkness in the last year or so. His daughter is moving back in with him, because she is wise to the mother's tricks. He met a really great woman earlier this year. She is perfect for him, unselfish and loves him for himself. He really cares for her, probably even loves her. Sadly, it seems that he still can't get over the hurt and mistrust from the past, and is afraid to truly risk his heart again. Any suggestions on how he can can get past this and start living again? I would love to help him. He deserves to be happy again.
  • I lost an unbelievable amount of weight after one break up.....so yes it hurts.
  • Yes, guys certainly hurt after (some) breakups.
  • I would doubt it. I just caught my boyfriend cheating on me and I'm sure he could care less if I'm there or not.
  • I used to think everyone did until I met my exboyfriend. I was convinced he loved me until... he left me all suddenly. We were engaged and everything but when he left me all hope died. Three days later I see that he is just fine, looks at me but doesnt care if I live or die... so honestly not everyone feels hurt after a breakup. I surely do, I feel like a million souls attacked mine and killed my heart but he... he basically doesn't. It sucks.
  • It depends on the guy... I honestly think my ex doesn't give a rats ass about me.
  • what a silly question
  • Okay..EVERY guy is hurt after a break up, and they probably feel the same pain youre feeling. Most guys don't like to show it though, and i'll never figure out why. I guess it's just a "guy thing".. They don't want people to think their pussys about it, so they try to hide their emotions...
  • not if they are the dumper. they move on to the next girl to fill the void. the guy never pays. its the woman who has given her all that ends up hurting the worst
  • It happened to me....
  • I've seen many of these answers indicate a resentment towards men and this idea that we just move on. Well even if I was doing the breaking up I've always been horribly torn up by it. Even in cases where I had been cheated on or otherwise betrayed, I've always hurt for a long time after relationships. In fact even now I'm still having trouble moving on from my last girlfriend and our relationship ended a couple of months ago.
  • No, we have no hearts.....at least that's what you women say all of the time.
  • A guys feelings are always hurt, but they do try and cover it up "never usually works". Just because its a guy it doesnt mean they shouldnt feel pain
  • i dont think so they are dogs they dont feel anything
  • I dont think so. All they ever want is sex. They move on to the next relationship till this one stops giving him sex. They are like my hamster on his wheel. At least my soon to be ex is.
  • all depends on the relationship, i never saw my bf cry until he thought he might not be in love with me any more after 4 years together, 3 of which we lived together, he was hurting bad and he was a good man.
  • I know I sure did ...
  • the more you like the person the more it hurts and if the break up is sudden it hurts more i was hurt felt like a hole was in my chest i had no one to talk to girls have friends upon friends most of the time and no guy wants to show it thats not what we are known for were suppose to be strong and unmoved by emotion. Most of the time thats not the case.....
  • My ex-boyfriend dumped me because he told me he had met someone else. Then 3 weeks later he told me he regretted it and still loved me. 4 months later he is still with her and still sending me messages about how much he loves me and misses me. He is hurt but only in the sense that he feels sorry for himself. The poor thing can't have his cake and eat it too.
  • I have been devastated
  • it depends- if he really liked the girl yes- if not, no. duh!
  • are you serious.........LISTEN CAUSE I WILL ONLY SAY THIS ONCE...WHOEVER ASKED THIS IS A COMPLETE 100% IDIOT!!! of course we do!!! my first girl friend i dated her for 2 years found out she was cheating on me i confronted her about it and she laughed in my face about it......so yes we can and do feel hurt even if we dont show it i chose not to show it so she wouldnt get the satisfaction of ruining my life...between me and...whoever reads this...yes i felt the hurt i cried and i tried to commit suicide...so yes we f***ing do feel hurt after breakups
  • I think guys recove quicker than girls or is it because they are just good at hiding emotions.
  • we cry 4 months at i time
  • if they loved u then they will be hurt .. however if they never loved u they will be relieved ... and if they fell our of love with u then they we be sad for a lil while .. this is only what my guy friends have told me.. but it really depends on they guy ..
  • As much if not more then women do
  • yeah, we also do. I am still for almost twoo yrs, got many female friends but still can't get over that one woman.. it stil sux after all this time..
  • They are humans too. They have feelings.
  • No they party!!! aren't they human beings, have emotions feelings like you people?
