  • Yeah he could.
  • yes and men who cheat are scum bags in my opinion
  • Of course. I know I'm the type of person who is completely faithful - I'm a one woman man, and I'm sure I'm hardly the only one.
  • I'd like to think so.
  • Of course he could. Contrary to some people's views, men are not wild horny animals who cannot control themselves. Many, many men stay with one woman their whole lives.
  • Sure he can if his love is strong enough for her, & he truly wants to be with her.. Its that "feeling" that you get when you know you truly love her..
  • Yes he can.
  • If it's the 'right' woman.
  • I've managed 40 years of being faithful to one woman and don't expect to change so the answer is a resounding YES.
  • im always faithful 2 my girl if u ask mi women cheat more den men because my mate has had 4 girlfreinds and all cheated on him. ive only ever had onegirlfreind and its lasted 2 months and still holding strong
  • Obviously, from the answers above, some men are faithful. Had I not read their answers I would have have answered "absolutely no." Most of the men I know have not been faithful and none regret it. I do not believe that man was meant to be faithful, and it is only in the last hundred years or so that the demand to be faithful has become so ingrained in American society. In most other societies it is not considered important. The only man close to me who asserted his faithfulness was my accountant. On Answerbag there are many who strongly disagree with my view--and no matter how cogent my arguement those Puritans will downgrade this answer with glee. Look, it's a free country.
  • Yes, they can if they have self control. If you can't keep to one, don't get married and promise to stay faithful. Simple as that. Why promise something you can't uphold? It's disgusting and it's extremely angering. To the people who cheat- I hope it happens to you, and I hope YOU get to find out what it feels like to have a fucking KNIFE IN YOUR HEART AND YOUR SOUL. Gawd, people are disgusting creatures.
  • I believe it is not only possible, it happens far more often than you would suspect or want to admit. You don't hear about it because women are always busy bashing the cheaters. They have no interest in a faithful man that provides for his family in a loving, caring, respectful way. There's no sensationalism in that. I've been with the same woman for 17 years. Never cheated once. Pretty boring, hun?
  • Absolutely. I believe this "man is not meant to be monogomous" argument is little more than an excuse for lazy and undisciplined behavior. We all want and desire things; it doesn't mean we have to act on those desires. Having said that, I can't say I know many men who have been totally faithful....
  • Yes, but with GREAT difficulty.
  • You bet they can...it's a matter of taking their vows seriously.
  • I've met several who haven't ever cheated on a girlfriend, or their wife for that matter, but many more who don't think twice about cheating period. Men and women do it (cheating). It's not one of those things that are "normal" (monogamy in relationships) but it's completely possible.
  • Women mostly fear the loss of their husbands through infidelity. When they are certain that there is no possiblity of losing their man they are more comfortable with the idea. Hence, in the days when divorce was almost unknown infidelity was much less of an emotional problem to women than it is now. Still a problem, but not of the earth-shaking caliber we see today. Stronghart is right, of course. He probably has a very solid marriage and my guess is that he has fewer outside-the-marriage relationships than one might expect.
  • he can try to.
  • Cheating is an act of emotional violence and men and women both can avoid cheating if they keep their relationship strong.
  • I have heard they can..not real sure..lol..kidding no offense intend gentlemen... I just havent met one yet that was :)
  • Yes, that is possible. It might be hard to do so.
  • well the truth is not as many men stay faithful as those who have ''the wondering eye''
  • He sure could if he wanted to grow up and honour his commitments to the woman he supposedly loves more then any other. I have know several men who did not once ever feel the need to cheat. My great grand father was with my great grand mother for 70 years. My uncle has been with my aunt for almost 40. My step dad has been with my mom for 20. Jay and I were together for 3. His brother has been with his wife for 12. Jay's grand fathers were with their wives for 50 and 60 years. My friend Joe was with his wife for 50. Not one of these men has ever cheated. This whole idea that men can't remain faithful is not only wrong in my mind, but sexist and demeaning towards men. If any thing they should be ticked that people have such a low opion of them instead of embracing it. After all it is like saying they have no self control or any kind of a moral back bone and that they can't be trusted. If someone said that about me I know I would be ticked off to no end. I think this comes from a misunderstanding of not men's, but women's sex drive. For centuries it was bad for a woman to want to be sexual active. Even after we realized that wasn't so we held onto the false idea that women want sex less then men do. There were also some very weird pratices such as the use of a sheet with a hole in it so the woman could retain her virtue which removed the much needed visual stimulation for the man as well as restrictions on the posstions and types of foreplay they could engage in. It was seen as dangerous for a woman to have sex while pregnant and dirty to have sex with her during her monthlies. Because of these ideas it was seen as okay for a man to have extra sex partners to satify the needs that she wasn't able to meet. It was also a status symbol to be able to have more then one wife or to have a wife and a concubine or mistress. It meant you had money and power to spare. However this isn't true today yet these strange ideas are still hanging around. Just like we still beleive that it's unmanly for a man to show his emotions we have it ingrained into us that manly men will cheat. We also have this strange idea from both that men do not gain an emmotinal connection through sex. If that were true not one guy out there would ever stay with a woman any longer then one coupling nor would he feel betrayed when she cheated on him. Here's something else to think about. Men who are in full monogamous realtionships, I'm talking no cheating and no porn or other forms of adult entertainment, live longer, happier, healthier lives with fewer problems with depression and drug and alcholo abuse and a lower suicide rate. They accomplish more in their carreers then their run around counter parts. They also rate their sexual satisfaction as higher then the other's do and have sex more often. So do their partners. Women of faithfull men also have pregnancies with fewer complications and still births or miscarrages. When you look at the lives of their children they fair much better then the children of the other kinds of guys. They are better educated, less likely to do drugs or have alcholo problems, less likly to have sex at a young age, lower suicide rates, and are less likely to suffer from depression. They're also less likely to live in poverty. I think that right there speaks volumes for how healthy and normal it is for men to be non-monogamous.
  • My husband,as far as I know, was absolutely faithful, as I was, for a long marriage which ended in his death. I have chosen not to re-marry yet. But if he was not perfect, that would be okay with me. He was MY husband, and I honored and obeyed him, and took him as he came. If women would learn that they would be a lot happier.
  • Just as a matter of interest the following historical figures are KNOWN to have had extra-marital relationships. This includes none who were "rumored" to have had outside relationships. - George Washington (Known as 'Father of His Country' ...for more than one reason. Thomas Jefferson Andrew Jackson Millard Fillmore James Buchanan Grover Cleveland (Kept a mistress in the White House!) James Buchanan Warren G. Harding Franklyn Delano Roosevelt Dwight David Eisenhower John F. Kennedy Lydon Baines Johnson and of course, Bill Clinton. -- This is just a list of Presidents. If we would go through the list of senators, supreme court justices, cabinet members, congressmen, governors, mayors, and councilmen, we could come out with many more. -- If we would add businessmen, actors, athletes, and ABers how long do you think the list would be?
  • From Rabbi Boteach: What I don't understand about sex is the fundamental contradiction it poses to love. While love deepens with time and shared experience, sex is stifled by relationship and routine. It seems to thrive most through novelty rather than intimacy, through new flesh rather than old love. Sex is the quintessential expression of love. We even call it lovemaking. So, why are so many couples who are so deeply in love with each other, after so many years of being together, utterly sexless? Why must couples choose between being lovers and being best friends, between being passionate and being intimate? King Solomon proclaims in his famous Song that there is a love like fire and a love like water, and it seems that one cancels the other out. The fiery love of sex and erotic passion becomes more and more muted through the more watery love of marital routine, familial patterns, and an increasing number of anniversaries celebrated. Why can't sex and love go absolutely hand in hand, as they should? Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is the author of Kosher Sex, Kosher Adultery, and Shalom in the Home. From a quotation in Slate Magazine.
  • So far, I have. I'll let you know if I totally succeeded after I'm dead ;)
  • so can you tell me if age and sexual experience play some parts too? If a guy who is still in his early 20's and has not been with many girls, would he later in life turns active in sex?
  • I am sure like some women some men can, just like some men and some women can't.
  • He better!!!
  • I was until she was unfaithful to me.Now i have another s/o who i am faithful to,and will remain that way.I dont understand the weakness in some men,or women, that would make them cheat on a person they claim to love.To me an unfaithful partner is a show of no respect for their s/o.
  • I'm going to keep this real short: I don't care if men aren't meant to be faithful, whatever, to each his own. What pisses me off is the deception. Hey, I'll get with some guy if he admits to sleeping with a slew of women and never being able to stop, as opposed to getting with a guy who pretends he's Mr. Husband Loveyouforever and then dicks around behind my back. JUST OWN UP TO IT YOU PUSSIES!!!! Sorry.. clearly, I'm a victim of infidelity. To answer your question, yes.. anything is possible. Likely? No.
  • "I did not have sexual relations with that woman,Miss Lewinski"
  • Yes, assuming that the term "thru life" means from the day of marriage forward.
  • I am trying with sincerity!
  • As a man of faith I consider that we have been asked, told to be faithful. As a man who has counseled many I can tell you that many happy marriages occur in spite of infidelity
  • Just as easily as a woman can, Why do you use men instead of asking if a person ..........
  • Yes. End of story.
  • Yes I believe a man could, but this takes a true man whos mature enough and not a selfish little pr*ck!!!! :)
  • I am going through life with one woman, been married to her and never cheated now for 18 years, and I really dont plan to cheat.
  • I sure hope there are some out there that can. Sad world if none of them can.
  • Yes he can if he loves her 100% pyysical and mential and personality wise Also if he is very honest good guy
  • My father is sheer proof of that.
  • yea he can. does he always do it? no. should he and is it still possible? sure.
  • His mother, maybe. Or maybe if it's a very short life ...
  • If he loves her and she is good to him then it wouldn't be a problem.
  • Yes. However it takes supreme effort and a commitment to something greater than his own selfishness. The breakdown usually begins when a mate's selfishness takes center stage.
  • Yes. I think he can.
  • I find it hard but I'm trying my best
  • Absolutely yes. I can only speak with certainty for one man, myself. But I have known many whose fidelity I have never had cause to doubt. And I suspect that the great majority of those who agree with me are also basing their answer on first hand experience.
  • Yes, i think there are some really good and great men in the world.
  • I didn't think so until I married for the second time now I truly believe there are men who are and can be faithful, til do us part.
  • physically yes, I don't know about mentally.
  • This doesnt have to do so much with can a MAN or WOMAN be faithful to one person for a liftetime. I believe this would be better addressed as can every individual be faithful to one person. Some people do not act on temptation be it morals, their personality, fear of losing someone, or just out of total committment. While others are more selfish in nature and act on impulse.
  • I heard this saying.. "a man is only as faithful as his options." I guess this means that if he has the opportunity to cheat with a woman that he finds attractive with a great personality, then he will take that opportunity. If not, he will remain faithful to his girlfriend or wife. Sad but I believe this =(
  • Life Is Too Short, Break The Rules, Forgive Quickly, Kiss Slowly, Love Truly, Laugh Uncontrollably, And Never Regret Anything That Made You Smile. Life May Not Be The Party We Hoped For, But While We're Here, We Should Dance...
  • I have been married to my wife for 17 years, and have been faithful to her. If you truly love someone, you don't want to be with anyone else.
  • Some say they could but I could not so I find that doubtful
  • yea but it is very very hard for a 40 year old man to say no to sex with a sexy 20 year old
