2n=n when the DNA replicates it duplicates the number of chromosomes and when meiosis occurs it leads to a haploid number of chromosomes

With crossing over, deletion, non disjunction, ect. there is no formula. The answer isn't an infinite number nad would be finite. Are we talking about phenotypicals or genotypical differences?

2 to the power n so a pea for example has 7 chromosomes, therefore it can have 128 different gametes (not including crossing-over etc), i.e. 2x2x2x2x2x2x2!
