  • I very much doubt it. The way muffins are baked obviously menas a lot of fat and sugar are used, and reduced fat doesn't give any indication of how much they are reduced to. So, for example, even if they contain 40% less fat than normal ones, which sounds good on paper, they still contain a large amount of fat, because of the high percentage to start with. They are obviously better than standard muffins but still not healthy I would imagine.
  • If you are trying to lose weight I would avoid ALL types of donuts, even if they are reduced fat they will still have loads of calories. Why not have just some blueberries instead? they are in that 'superfood' group, they're really good for you.
  • No way! If you're trying to loose weight STEERCLEAR of dunkin donuts muffins, even the reduced fat, which only contains 5g of fat (2 are saturated!), BUT it packs in 400 calories and 78g of carbs (33g of which are from sugar!) If you want your muffin fix, I have a recipe for extremely yummy (Low calorie, and low carb muffins!) 1-1/2 cups of whole grain pastry flour 1 cup of wheat bran (I use the bran buds cereal!) 2 tablespoons of granulated splenda 1-1/4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon 1-1/4 teaspoons of baking soda 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1-1/4 cups of 1% or fatfree buttermilk 2 largeeggs, lightly beaton 3 tablespoons of canola oil 3/4 of a cup of frozen blueberries (thawed) 1-1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extracts heat your oven to 350 degrees F, line a muffin tin with paper liners, or lightly coat with cooking spray. combine your dry ingredients (flour, bran, splenda, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt) in a large mixing bowl. in a seperate mixing bowl combine the wet ingredients (buttermilk, eggs, oil, blueberries, and vanilla) make a well in the center of your dry ingredients, add the wet ones, and mix just to combine, don't overmix. divide your batter evenly among the muffin cups. bake for 20 minutes, cool and enjoy! makes 12 muffins/servings 1 serving 130 calories 5 g of fat (1/2 g saturated) 5 g of protein 20 g of carbs 5 g of fiber 200 mg of sodium I guarentee you'll love these muffins, and won't miss the dunkin' donuts ones at all! Plus, you'll feel good about eating these delicious things! I like to sometimes sub. the blueberries for some dark chocolate chips, tastes delicious! Hope you enjoy!!
