  • He did call for regular burn offerings in the OT. Once the body dies and the soul departs, what is left is only the shell. There is no biblical proscription against cremation. 5/13/25
  • Unless you think animals are humans by the burnt offerings to ask this question, those were animal sacrifices for the atonement of sins. 1 Samuel 31:8-13 mentions the dead bodies of Saul and his sons. The Jabesh-Gileadites cremated them. But then again, Saul and his sons sinned against God. Besides the story of Saul, the standard practice in the Old Testament and the New Testament was a burial.
