  • I doubt it. Why is it every born again christian I know refuses to admit or cant remember what sort of person they used to be? As in the few I know are reformed herion junkies they take no responablity for all the things they stole to get drugs. One of them wonders why another bloke in town beats him up everytime he sees him he did steal his car 5 times. As far as god helps those that help themselves steal my stuff and I will rain blows on you was the last arguement I had with a born again. They are pathetics that hide behide relgion. Or is born again a cult as the local churchies tell me. If a church requires tithing beware.
  • From observation, not always, to be born again is to believe in what Jesus did, and to become like him through that belief, ie holy. I think a direct experience with the divine makes the bible easier to understand, but since Jews will tell you there is much more to Torah than stories, the Kabbalah comes from the Torah along with sacred Gematria, and that The Mystery is also hidden in the New Testament then to some the Bible remains a book of bizarre events and parables. Much religion is the outer ritual, the esoteric is for inner transformation. The difference between milk and solid food.
  • No, when that statement was made, the bible as we know it did not yet exist. John 3: 3-5 "Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” This wasn't stated to increase any understanding of a book that hadn't yet been compiled, IMHO. 9/24/24
