As a child: Yes. Terrible, but educational, experience. * More often I prepared but failed to prepare adequately, but that didn't happen often, either. Also not a fun experience. * It's my competitive nature. I don't really understand why some people just don't care. I always wanted to do the best, to be the best. Give me a test, a job, whatever, and I want to do it better than anyone else, and I'll do my absolute best to get it done and done right. It's very satisfying to feel like you've done a good job - whether it's a plumbing job, washing dishes, cleaning toilets or taking an exam in Quantum Mechanics.
