Why are these substance abuse clinics and doctors are allowed to prescribe medications such as : xanax, klonopin, etc ?

Because they cant give junkies herion or meth. They are addicted to hard drugs. Its a waste of time lock them up and make them go cold turkey. Giving them pills achieves nothing half of them will sell the pills to children. Why do gooders think that is helping them I have no idea.
