That's not true among a pretty large segment of Christians...and probably some other religions as well. Among that segment, God talking to someone is considered either miraculous (but NOT strange)...or even COMMONPLACE (in some groups).

Just about everything we do or say directly affects other people to be in doubt. In a world of individualism, it's hard to accept a chosen one, because many people's actions are selfish.
