  • Lots of possibilities. For just one example: atmospheric occlusion of light. For example: due to excessive volcanic activity throwing large amounts of volcanic ash into the air, or due to excessive air pollution, or due to a meteorite strike. "The stars will fall from Heaven" could either refer to the blocking of the starlight, or could refer to a shower of meteors/meteorites. *** Consider the theory (or is it a hypothesis?) that the Earth is subject to increased meteoric bombardment every few million years - in a cycle - which seems to match the cycle of the Earth's passage through the galactic plane. In fact: seems to match the time that the Earth is passing through that plane. (1) It's reasonable to hypothesize that there is far more matter in the galactic plane (that might impact the Earth) than elsewhere, and "elsewhere" is where the Earth has been throughout the entirety of human and even proto-human existence (2) and this cycle has been tied to several mass extinctions, including that of the dinosaurs
  • Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:29 For our God is a consuming fire.***** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIre1u0XskE
  • First let's take a look about what you are talking about; the question is about a scripture in the Bible, and where the Bible is not a book of science, where it talk's about anything scientific, it is accurate. But your question is about Matthew 24:29. I applaud you for being a Bible reader, so let's take a look at the context of this scripture, The reference is about the coming of Jesus, Joel 2:31 says "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come". KJV. Verse 30 goes on to say "and then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and thy shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with great power and great glory". KJV. Mark 13:24,25 and Luke 21:25,26 makes mention of these same occurrences, in fact verse 26 says "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. So for a bible reader to see the prophecies of the coming Son of Man (which is Jesus Christ) and so many more about the last days of this system under the control of satin, the question could be asked is When will all these things occur? The Bible gives such a wonderful hope for a future without any tears, pain, or even death Rev 21:4 I hope this helped, if you would like more information about this or other Bible subjects, please login to JW.org.
