When you tell Johnny you are going to kick his azz , thats direct communication. When you post a "to whom it may concern"memo on the bulletin board that you are going to kick johnnys azz, thats indirect communication.

When you say something directly to someone that's direct communication. When you talk about them behind their backs knowing it will get back to them, that's indirect communication.
