  • Fahrenheit, I assume, otherwise, those temperatures would be a little extreme. I'm pretty happy when it's above 10 deg F (-12 deg C) and below +90 deg F (+32 deg C) during the day. Maybe 10 deg F (5.56 deg C) cooler at night, just so I can sleep comfortably. Unfortunately for me, where I live is steadily colder than that in the winter; sometimes highs will stay in the negatives (Fahrenheit) for weeks. Now we're halfway through March and it was 1 deg F this morning on the way to work. I'd say "at least we are prepared for it," but, honestly, there is no way to build a house to withstand the weather we get here long term. Metal rusts, wood splinters, and concrete turns to dust when it cycles between -40 degrees and "warmer" temperatures for a month out of the year.

  • It depends on the time of year. Early in the summer, the air is still rather cool due to the earth's exposure to winter temperatures during the previous months. Once the ground warms up, it can store heat and the ambient air temperature will feel much different. Likewise, in the fall, the opposite happens and it takes a while for the ground to cool off after absorbing the summer heat. I prefer a high of around 83-85 and a low of 70-75 unless there have been subsequent days of hot weather - then it drops to 65-70.
