  • You ok, Linda? Your grammar is usually better than that. Anyway, if I was dying of covid-19, I would not likely be coherent. HCQ and CQ-P have been recently (as of 16 Apr 2020) debunked by the medical research community. Even the news sites have moved on to another bullshit-smelling miracle cure called Tocilizumab. That drug is also immunosuppressive and will only treat symptoms, most likely. There are other experimental drugs that make more logical sense, like EIDD-2801 (which, if I had to put my money on one drug, that'd be it, but it's all guessing until there is data), favipiravir, and remdezivir. Remdezivir has been tested since quite early on, and, after a few optimistic anecdotes, has been shown to offer little actual promise. That's why science is awesome, though- it can cut through all of the bullshit and politics and tell you what works and what doesn't, if done properly. The problem is that doing things properly takes a long time, and dying people don't have enough time left. I get that. But, thanks to what science has told us the last two or three weeks, we now know that HCQ and CQ-P are good for relieving a patient's symptoms to ease the end of their life, and for an actual effective treatment, we need to try something else.

You're right! I knew that didn't look right when I read it, but I convinced myself 'was' was singular and were was plural. hahaha! So, no. I must not be ok. And thanks for the update, but I've heard of several people supposedly being cured by the drug. However, I'm glad they are finding new and better ways to treat it.
  • I've never heard of hydroxychloroquine and I haven't the foggiest idea what it is. I rarely trust words that are too long to fit on a Scrabble board, especially when they have a "q" in them.

It's a sneaky letter, for sure. Quick, quiet, questionable, oblique - all sneaky words. Honest, dependable, open, trustworthy - no q's there.
