• I would be great if they would. 😊

You can look that up online, too. And there are some places that have one medication I use at half the cost of other places! Fortunately I don't have to pay for mine.
  • No, I think insurance companies should be required to have an online lookup showing your out of pocket cost. Some do this now.
    • Linda Joy
And for those that don't have insurance?
  • Very few manufacturers of anything (including drugs) will put prices for their products in their ads because manufacturers seldom sell their products to the public, retailers usually do. Retailers can add whatever mark up they like on products and don't want the manufacturer telling them what to charge.
    • Linda Joy
      Good point!
  • No. I think it's a dumb idea dreamed up by politicians to make it look like they're doing something about the evil pharmaceutical companies. If you want to know how much a drug costs, ask your pharmacist, since he's the guy actually selling it.
    • Linda Joy
I agree with the first sentence, but the second one is not wise at best. But I wouldn't expect you to know because you have VA benefits and don't have to worry about it. A Pharmacist will not compare prices for you.
    • Archie Bunker
He won't compare the prices, but he knows the prices. Remember, the store where you buy your drugs also tacks on a price and those prices vary from store to store. He may not have a price list posted, but he can sure tell you what each costs. It just takes a little work on your part. And yes, I do have to worry about it. I have a child that isn't on the VA system.
