Plumbing service cost
My room is flooding and I called a plumbing company, 5 star rated with "fair prices" according to many reviewers. I called and set an appointment for a weekend when my parents are available. A guy comes and spends about an 1hr and half. He comes to the conclusion that he cannot, unfortunately, do anything bc my pipes are too old as well as the bathrooms in my 3 apt complex bldg (the water is coming from the bathrooms). He said we need to consider remodeling all bathrooms and that his company does not offer that service. He charged my mother ( I was not there) $190 just for that. He came and went and my room is still flooding. Does that seem like a reasonable amount to charge without any work done?

First turn your water off! Then check out this site for plumbing estimates. https://www.fixr.com/costs/plumbing A camping shower costs less than $10, and most toilets will flush if you dump a gallon of water in the bowl all at once. No, but a minimal fee ($50 to $100) for his time to check it out would be fair. They broke no laws but 1.5 hr. to determine he couldn't do anything is a bit excessive. Write a very realistic (not nasty or exaggerated) review on Yelp.
