  • The government doesn't need to. Hollywood has already put such a false slant on history that much of today's youth believe the bullshit to be true.

And the history books are written by the winners and often lack many of the true facts.

      Exactly.

The public school system has failed them.
  • This reminds me of the books that came out a few years ago that the ink would fade to nothing. It is like they used disappearing ink to print with. The old bait and switch trick.
  • Find and watch the movie, "760 Degrees Fahrenheit" I am sure there is a book version as well. It will give you a good answer.

I went looking and nothing could be found by that title, so I believe you are mistaken about that. However, I did find what I think you were referring to ... "Fahrenheit 451". Written in 1951 by Ray Bradbury and published in 1953. It was later made into a movie and released in 1966, with the same title. "The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found ".

Don't forget the public school system teaches them the same bullshit .
  • History gets rewritten all the time. When you were in school they told you that WW2 pulled the country out of the depression, didn't they? That is an awfully dumb thing to say because we all know that war wastes resources, breaks things, and kills people. And we all know that rubber and butter and cars and other indicators of prosperity were severely limited during that time. WW2 was a time of such poverty that some people had to plant gardens just to have enough to eat. We all know that as soon as the war ended, many babies were born and cars became wildly popular. But the government indoctrination centers taught and still teach that WW2 was a source of prosperity for the nation. Well, it was, sort of, but only for the people who were in business to promote war. Go to google.com and search "howard katz" for more historical research about economic history.
  • The left is already trying to rewrite history. And it's going on in our schools as we speak.
