  • Yes, as you can see by some of my questions. All this suffering makes life hard to bear, and even harder to stay faithful to God. But this is a battle for my soul, the bible is clearly concerned with my spiritual wellbeing being lost to my sinful nature, here I can choose to give in to God and unite with him, or I can choose to give into my hopelessness, and be without God, or turn away from God in anger, and so be tempted by sin which leads to death and often debasement. I try to read bits of the new testament daily, for it's Gods word and as the bible says man cannot live by bread alone. I was without God for years and thought I was free, but then you realise life is without meaning, and so everything you do is meaningless, it can only be that way if you believe that the universe is by random chance, and our actions are a mere product of neurons and chemicals, with an earth that will eventually die. If I look for meaning, as all humans do, then there must be something greater than me, a greater mind than mine. The bible says that life tests the spirit and we often gain the fruits by suffering. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Corinthians-Chapter-13/ Do you remember singing this at school? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHVz45n5a9M
