  • The human butt can be quite musical. Just get a trough of beans and a ladle, drop your drawers, grab your cheeks and squeeze to vary the pitch! (Or you could just buy a trumpet, but that's the boring way to do it.)

Reminds me of a dirty limerick.
  • You could use a hair comb and a piece of paper, to make a "paper comb". It's pretty much just a buzzing sound that gets produced as you hum, but in the right hands, it can be made to sound sorta like a harmonica type instrument to accompany some guitar and singing.

      Simple items in all households.
  • Percussion is easy....hands and table top. Or bust up a couple wooden hangers so you have "drum sticks" and hang a tin lid from a string, for a cymbal, and whap all over the top of a suitcase or something as your drum.

Bare hands don't count unless I'm getting spanked. This Q requires drumsticks.
  • I once used a spark plug socket as a trumpet...but....it kinda hurt, and tasted of grease. Although stoned as we were, everyone was kind of impressed for a while lol. ............... But yea anything tubular (an empty paper towel roll even.....just put it on your mouth and buzz your lips, through it...there's your brass section.

Not sure about the socket but the anything tubular works.
  • em...if you got mice, and some wooden mallets...no, better not. um...did you ever see the movie Caveman (with Ringo Star and Shelly Long)? Well, apparently man first discovered music when it was found that sticking a blind guys hand in fire repeatedly would cause him to shriek rhythmically. So you might be able to set something up..Try this...go find a dozen drunk republicans at a bar....chain them to the radiator in your cellar. Now you'll need some wooden mallets.... And the trick is to find a way to tune each guy to a specific note...but people tend to have voices of varying pitch, so just try lining them up from woosiest to butchest, and then as you whap them on the head (or hands, whatever will be the easiest way to play your new HUMAN XYLOPHPONE... and there ya go. [TIP: If the republicans give you trouble... you could use winos or homeless guys instead. They may be more pliable and easier to lure anyway.]

Your creativity is immense. I can't keep up. I think I'll go get an acorn top blow into it and make a loud whistle sound to get some attention,

Different height victims - I mean volunteers - might get the variety of screams needed.
  • 5 gallon bucket, pots & pans. 2 spoons, rubber bands stretched across an old cigar box(I did this last one as a kid) Glasses filled with different levels of water.

Liked the acorn comment above. The differing levels of water in glasses was what I was thinking of.

Oops I repeated the spoons. Sorry. I'm not sure acorn tops can count as household items though

Bottle lid would work just the same though.

They could be in your yard. Some would call anything on your property as part of the household...but your right that you wouldn't find those IN the house.
  • Not repeating answers will limit me, but I'm up for the challenge! Various jugs and bottles for a flute effect, crystal can sing if you have talented fingers (like I do) (I'm assuming Roaring was using his glasses by tapping them) Beans or rice or any number of things in a bottle or box could be used as moracas, quarters glued to a string attached to a lid for a tambourine, matchbox with a hole, popsicle stick and rubberbands for a miniature guitar, washboard, saw, straw, spoons, bucket bungee tie down and broomstick for a bass, 2 lids for cymbals, glue some little rubber bands to quarters for finger symbols. I could go on,but I don't want to.

An entire orchestra ! Impressive. Moracas was my favorite of those.

I've actually made those impromptu for a visiting child!
  • Old floppy disk drives (and an Arduino). YouTube FJsfP9QQH-4

      I don't get it - but ok.
  • Depends how far the person I have to hit with it is.

      This explains soooo little.
